I can't even tell if this is sarcasm or not.

We heard there was punch and pie.

I'd really like to see the new Knights... wonder if the current chaos warriors will be recut. I'd love making an army just with these two choices.

Well you'll get your wish, as that will be totally doable (and pretty fluffy). There are new knight models, and they're apparently huge and beautiful. There's a huge rambling thread on Warseer that has a few rumors nuggets in it, and with the Games Days that just happened perhaps we'll get some more specifics. Right now all I can tell you is expect 7+ special characters, a number of new awesome models (Chosen on foot, Chosen knights & heroes in metal; maruader cav and hounds in plastic at last - no word on chariot but crap does it need it more than anything), some new units (cultists - marked marauders with less WS and such) and revisions to some old favorites.

Here's one such nugget. You remember how VC blood knights were called the craziest most killy knights in the whole warhammer world? Well what they meant was that they are second only to chosen knights, who are now being described as the most killy insanely powerful knights ever. While I have no idea if they'll finally get lances (), apparently for every character and/or RNF kill they make the unit gets various buffs, ala the old black coach. Sweet!

Sounds interesting, might even get me into Fantasy (well, I do have Orcs and Empire, courtesy of two of the previous edition's boxes, maybe one day I'll get them painted).

I've heard the rumours about the knights and I absolutely love the warriors, though I fiddled with a kit and the part where the cape and the shoulders meet need some greenstuff to fit properly. Other than that... What's not to love in them?

How about their lousy table top performance. As much as I love Chaos Warriors they just don't stack up well in the static combat resolution category that is the main focus of Warhammer these days.

I hope this restores my faith in fantasy battle

I am happy to see that they are apparently sticking true to the 'get you by' army book as actually being temporary.

This just in, regarding the new book: Chaos warriors deemed too powerful, especially when combined with the mark of the tzeentch. 6+ ward save removed, gives +1 Initiative instead (mutated tentacle arms = faster), at a cost of +8 points.

Can take magic banner worth 15 points, but only if chosen (which costs +15 per model and gives another +1 Initiative)

Chaos warriors will still suck unless they really change them.

Please, no more Marines for Fantasy.

Do SOMETHING radical.

Most pathetic army, ever.

Even DE could beat them (with their old hey T3 with no saves is sexah! book).

For the record ... The real issue with chaos warriors is their cost and their speed, and then on the side their mediocrity. The get-you-by dropped the points (and the points to make them chosen as well) but even still they're a lot to get enough for a 5x4 unit with full CR. And then once you get that block it's still only M4 in a game where competitively speed + kills is more important than CR alone.

For me, adding some cool / interesting / fairly costed marked abilities is what warriors need (and what Phil Kelly will give them when the book comes out). WS5 S4 T4 I5 3+ save infantry is solid in itself, just limited by slow (read: standard M4) speed. I don't really understand the invective leveled at chaos warriors, they're an expensive anvil that when marked properly is pretty decent at being an expensive anvil. People seem to want their expensive anvil to also be a fast hammer as well :S
