Nice, but a little conversion work on GW's plastic zombies and ghouls would give a similar result.

Well to be fair, about the only place you cannot take them is to either a GW shop, or the GW tourneys such as RT tourneys at Games day, or grand tournaments.

Most local tournaments you can bring whatever the hell you want, as there is no incentive for any shop to enforce GW's "Only citadel figs" rule, so why should they care?.

I would even bet you could bring these to adepticon.

Those would actually be nice plague zombies from the old LatD list.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

No more than GW got into trouble from the Harryhausen Estate for using the one horned cyclops head on their models originally

Well, if all they sold was GW, then they might care that you're not buying from them. Anyway, they are nice models, but it does seem to me that they're treading awfully close to GW's IP.

Ghouls maybe, zombies no. The latter are actually damn useless models for conversions, and hideous sculpts too. I did the mistake of getting a box for Servitor conversions, and they look like crap.

As for the Heresy minis, I like them. Considering how flat-out awful anything Nurgle-related ever made by GW is, it's nice to see someone making the effort.

Well, the title of the thread kind of intimates that they might resemble Plague Bearers by utilizing the term "Plague Bearer."
Also, he never said they were cheap. In fact, seeing that the link went to Heresy's site, I knew they'd be $5+ a model before even clicking. Turns out, that was a CONSERVATIVE estimate. LOL

Personally, I like them more than GW's version. They're more menacing. the "real" Plague Daemons are buffoonish looking to me.

The buffoonery is a hold over from the old days I think, when Nurgle was the "silly" Chaos god.

Penetrating so many secrets, we cease to believe in the unknowable. But there it sits nevertheless, calmly licking its chops.

He still is! Read the entry for the Beast of Nurgle? Just because he's full of Puss doesn't mean that Big Papa doesn't have a sense of humor. Afterall, isn't all he really doing is hugging you to death?

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

Agreed. These resemble the GW art far more than the GW minis do. While Paul Mueller didn't sculpt these, they remind me of the metal ghouls he did for GW. I'd like to hope the heads will be available seperately because you could definitely mix in some metal ghouls' bodies for variety.

Heresy has a lot of half decent to good stuff. I haven't gotten around to buying any ever, but I could see myself picking up some of the sci-fi weapons for conversions, and maybe doing that "No GW allowed" daemon army I was thinking of.

This is much more specific than that. Generic huge horned cyclops got turned into a very specific type of human sized demon.

This is a mimic of a very specific demon, that has the same size, proportions, and is also a demon.

So like I said, I wonder how much the heads will get Heresy in trouble.

Hopefully Heresy won't get in trouble, but if they do, hopefully they'll sell a boatload beforehand, and then GW will release plastics that look as good.

I like some of their other demons, really the larger ones. I like to use all sorts of different looking models for daemon princes and greater daemons just so not everything looks the same.

Yeah, those are cool, but are very similar to the GW look for Plague Bearers. So similar that this may actually get Heresy in trouble.

GW does defend it's IP to the nth degree.

I just used new plastic ghouls, kroot, and green stuff. Cheaper than either GW metal plaguebearers, or Heresy poxy-dudes. And with the added benefit of being all GW parts, so if I ever want to commit the sin of using Daemons in a Rogue Trader, they will be legal.

I, for one, would love to see them try it.

I don't think you can win a fight that says you have copyrighted the idea of a one eyed one horned demon.

Heresy is a big enough corporation, I think, to challenge it. That's all it will take. Just a challenge of GW's "assault" on them. GW will, either, back down or lose the fight.

Fools! They're "Pox Bearers," not "Plaguebearers." Huge difference!

They do look nicer than GW's figures. But at 9 lbs. for 3, not nicer enough for me.
