Hi all,

recently i have been doing black amour for ** SM army and have been having difficulties on how to paint it, all i know is that too many highlighting makes the model look stupid and not enough highlight just looks bland and boring.. and what paint do i use for the highlighting, i am leaning towards codex Grey.

as well with some handy tips with highlighting SM armour (i dont have a steady hand, and my highlighting is far from smooth )

Cheers,
Gutteridge

There are several ways to painting black armor:
Here is the GW article on painting black templars and
here is a general tutorial on painting black by jrn.

The trick is to keep the high lights thin and sharp to keep the part black, and glazing the black part after highlighting with black mixed with blue. You could use the new gw washes for this glazing, mix of 50/50 black and blue should work fine.
