So I was at my local gaming shop and saw that the Cadian force has a new packaging, and I don't think that the old square LMBT sprues would fit in it. Has anyone else seen the new, skinny package, or possibly opened one up? It also looks like they dumped the terrain crap as well.

I haven't seen it yet, but it's probably going to be just like the slimmer packages that the Tau and Chaos battleforces have been changed to.

You're probably right. After I posted this I dug around for one of Russes still on the sprue, and I guess they would fit. For some reason I thought they were larger than they are. Oh well, that's what I get for neglecting my battle tanks.

Its a legal requirement now. EU packaging laws. Gw has decided to standardise packaging in respect of them.

Whwen baneblades first came out we had run out of our own stock we had stockm diverted that was to be exported to the US for immediate sale. Those Bansblades came in boxes that were the same in section but twice the depth.

I wondered why there were two box sizes, the answer was that Eu packaging laws had restricted the box sizes to no more than was needed to store the product, its about waste management.

As it must surely cost extra to have multiple packaging standards it made sense to box everything in accordance with the regulations passed. Perhaps the bean counters also eventually realised the smaller the box frontage the more product you can display. Which is why boxes are now narrower rather than shallower so four boxes fit on a shelf that previously helf three, thus face advertising one additional product.

The box is smaller and it no longer has the building sprue in it.
