Well this would be my first post here at Dakka and would be my first crack at a Chaos list with the new codex. I always loved Thousand Sons and decided to make an army based around them called The Shifting Sands. The army is coming along nice with the 'Egyptian' theme. Thousand Son troops, Terminators with the signature Thousand Son top, Defilers converted intor Scorpions, etc. Anyways...on to the list.

HQ - 155pts

Daemon Prince - 155pts
-Wings
-Lash of Submission
-Mark of Slaneesh

Troops - 624pts

8x Thousand Sons 1x Aspiring Sorceror - 254pts
-Doombolt

5x Thousand Sons 1x Aspiring Sorceror - 185pts
-Doombolt

5x Thousand Sons 1x Aspiring Sorceror - 185pts
-Doombolt

Elites - 160pts

4x Terminators - 160pts
-Pair of Lightning Claws

Fast Attack - 260pts

5x Rapors - 130pts
-2 Meltaguns
-Chaos Glory

5x Rapors - 130pts
-2 Meltaguns
-Chaos Glory

Heavy Support - 300pts

1x Defiler - 150pts
1x Defiler - 150pts

Now my overall strategy is to use the Daemon Prince to pull out juicy targets from cover and nail them with the Thousand Sons or my Defilers. Next up would be the main squad of Thousand Sons that would pretty much be like a guard squad to ensure the other two squads can hold their objectives. The raptors move in with their meltas and toast enemy vehicles and after that drop any particular tasty target I see or even help counter charge? I'm not sure if the squad how it is could help that much. The Terminators would deepstrike which would be great as the two raps have the icon so I could have options where to make the enemy go OH SHI- gotta deal with that before they wreck my line. The Defilers are just fire support and plus I love Defilers, such cool units. I was considering obliterators but I don't like that they can get insta killed. Thoughts, suggestions?

IMHO, you really need to drop one of the defilers and replace it with 2 oblitorators, drop one of the raptors for more marines

Better take 2 large TS squads in Rhinos, the Rhinos can serve as moving hills providing cover if necessary.
Moreover, in terms of kill points, better take less units but larger units (Raptor, Termies).

Are you building this army for theme or to win?

If its theme then lose the Slaanesh DP, cos he's way off base.

To win, consider changing some ksons into Noise Marines. The huge amounts of cover in 5th make ksons less effective.

While you sleep, they'll be waiting...

Have you thought about the Axis of Evil pension scheme?

you dont have enough anti-tank. 4 melta guns wont do. any enemy with tanks will just blast your raptors before they get anywhere and they you're in trouble. if you give all your asp sorcerers bolt of change you may just scrape though, but i still dont fancy your chances.

defilers are worse than obliterators at just about everything.

on the turn your terminators deepstrike they will do nothing. lightling claw terminators really need to be in a LR, otherwise it just takes them too damn long to get anywhere. a couple of powerfists, a heavy flammer and some combi-meltas/plasmas would be better for a DSing terminator squad.

as was said before, big squads in 5th do better than small squads.

taking up the mission

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?
