I dunno, it can try to phase him out. Necrons lose combat fast these days, or so I hear. I don't think 5th ed was as kind to them as it could have been, so I dunno if they'll be representing in numbers.

I like it.

I think it's a little unwieldy, but it does have alot of guys to draw fire and compress the enemy into specific zones.

@Lormax: No one won the last ard boyz. Everyone lost. lol

How many points is a 'ard Boyz tournament?

My Feral Ork army back in the day was 186 models for a 2000pt army and people had a hell of a time making a dent into it. I could have done more if my Cyboar nob squad wasn't so big. You know it is bad when you are lining up against a swarmy Spinegaunt army and you STILL have more models than he does.

I do love my grots, I don't know if I could leave them out of a swampy list. I might take a second Big Mek with KFF and then replace 30 boyz with a unit of grotz.

I also think that there will be fewer Necron players in the tournament this year. I've read a lot of posts recently about people thinking about bringing Landraider spam armies, and these will just completely rape Necrons in 5th with the changes to glancing hits. Mechanized armies in general will probably be popular and will present a major problem for Necrons.

I think Deffkoptas are better than kommandoes for tankhunting, and not that much worse at tying up a heavy weapon squad.

I played a list very similar to this with my Zilla/Swarm list last week. The Ork army was very unweildy, and I had an easy time concentrating fire and taking it down one unit at a time. You'll struggle with anything that has a 2+ save and can outshoot you (read: Carnifexes).

That being said, I don't know of a better way to run the orks at this level. I might add Snigrot to a squad of commandos. A squad of bikes led by a warboss with a claw may also work.

You'll destroy anyone who hasn't planned to fight hordes, but I think most of the better players will take this army into account when planning their list.

I wouldn't worry about Necrons. They NEED Monoliths, but every Monolith they take is 3 less Heavy Destroyers.

No snikrot to keep shooty armies from hugging the back edge? Figure outflank+PK is better?

@Stelek: The guy with the Monoliths got about $2k worth of free stuff. I wouldn't classify him and all the folks with free armies from the regionals as losers per say.

Meh. I could spend a grand to go to the GT, "win", and end up with a useless GW army.

Did I mention I have every army (cept Necrons) that I want? I'm spoiled like that.

No boss poles on the shootas? I'm surprised. They're more than worth three kommandoes.

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism." -Hermann Goering (high ranking Nazi)
