I use chaos warriors for a lot of my 40k stuff. is there any word on whether the new Chaos book will bring us great weapons, god varients or other new toys?
Since there's no warriors in the spearhead box I assume not but I thought I'd ask.

Jes mentioned that there would be god and weapon specific sprues with arms and upgrades "somewhere along the line" when the kit was first released.
It might just take a while.

He said that a long, long time ago, didn't he?
Anyway, I hope to see the "God Specific" sprue(s) stuff as well, but fear we'll be left with metal champions, a pat on the back, and an admonition to not be so picky.

Yeah, he said that around the time those models were released and he did an interview by Fat Bloke (I think). Two-handed weapons were a priority, but for now you had to make do with the regular undivided gits and the classic GW reply of "if we don't release it soon you might want to do something about it yourself".

If it's any consolation, they are trying to make warriors and mortals unplayable so you don't have to worry about it. ;-P

That's probably the best solution. It would solve most problems with Chaos.

"The last known instance of common sense happened at a GT. A player tried to use the 'common sense' argument vs. Mauleed to justify his turbo-boosted bikes getting a saving throw vs. Psycannons. The player's resulting psychic death scream erased common sense from the minds of 40k players everywhere. " - Ozymandias |

True enough, there is that!
GW is doing their best to make the entire WFB Chaos Army line boring by seperating the 3 lines (Mortals, Daemons and Beasts) out from each other.
Now that takes some doing!

This is an easy one. Don't cha realize that after they separate all the mortals, demons and beast, they will produce an army book that brings all three together! At the same time making the three previous army books obsolete.

The way they dumbed down the daemons in non-daemon codexes/army books to force you to start a Daemon army bothers me to no end. Although I've always wanted to do a Warriors/Marauders-only Viking army...

This was on Warseer but I got it from Librarium-Online. I don't know if it will help you for 40K, but I think these Marauders are vastly better than the present "I-shave-my-chest-and-hang-out-in-S&M-nightclubs Marauders.

Not as long as you'd think actually. Should be available from November from diret sales only, an upgrade sprue with great weapon/halberd options and, I think, a few variant heads etc. Believe this should cost £6.... so anywhere from $8-12 I guess ? Apparently they couldn't retool the chaos warrior sprues with the new stuff as well as existing options etc-- at least not currently.
