Does being mounted on a Hellboard give you the ability to fire the Hellglaive and charge?

Reason I ask is the DE Update says:

Hellglaives: Hellglaives now give the +1 Strength Bonus on the turn the bearer charges, even if they fired the weapon as a splinter rifle.

This was written when you couldn't rapid fire and charge unless you were stabilized, so...is that what it really means?

Note you cannot take a Hellglaive without also taking a Hellion Skyboard.

there is no reason at this point in time that you could fire a rapid fire weapon and proceed to charge into close combat on a hellion skyboard, I can only assume this is an oversight by GW, maybe they forgot splinter rifles are rapid fire unlike shuricats.

Half the time I doubt the people who are ruling on hellions even know which unit they are ruling on other than "oh those guys on the boards" can't wait till they get an overhaul.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Are you sure? The 4th edition rulebook is dated 2004 while the 'Second Edition' Codex Dark Eldar is dated 2002.

Yeah, I'm with Ghaz.

I'm positive that the updated DE rules were released when the 3rd edition rules were still in use (and you could fire a rapid fire weapon once up to 12" and still charge).

yakface's 40K rule #1: Although the rules allow you to use modeling to your advantage, how badly do you need to win your toy soldier games?
yakface's 40K rule #2: Friends don't let friends start a MEQ army.
yakface's 40K rule #3: Codex does not ALWAYS trump the rulebook, so please don't say that!

Hmmm my memory does not reach back far enough to dispute ye.

Still needs to be FAQ'd away though.

I'm going to vote for errata'd into an assault weapon personally
