Hello, a question arise when i looked new csm\nids\rulebook.
Tyranids by new faq have
Tyranids within Synapse range as described above
(including the Synapse Creature itself) are not
affected by the Instant Death rule.
So question is: csm Bliss Giver - any wounds caused by it inflict instant death\eldar Wraithcannon - on roll of .. inflicts instant death.
Do this two mentioned weapons cause instant death on nids ? or no? same for Eternal warrior USR.
I'm confused because rulebook mention ID=s 2times more then T.

If those weapons state that they cause Instant Death, then tyranid synapse creatures and tyranids within synapse range are unaffected by it, and the ID=Sx2 doesn't mean anything, in this case.

I agree completly with Warboss Nidsplitta'. Instant death no longer works on synapse.

Same goes for using a force weapon's power on a MC or Eternal Warrior.

I haven't been completely convinced that force weapon's don't work on "Immune to instant death" models... I'd like to be convinced though. Care to shed some light?
I do however agree completely with everything but force weapons not working.

Pg. 50 BRB Force Weapons Paragraph 2: Roll to hit and wound as normal, allowing any invulnerable saving throws the victim might have. The psyker may then take a Psychic test to use the weapon's power against any one opponent that suffered an unsaved wound by the weapon in that player turn. the normal rules for using psychic powers apply (remember that a psyker may normally use only one power per turn). If the test is passed, the enemy model suffers instant death, regardless of its Toughness value. This power has no effect against vehicles, models that are immune to instant death and any other model that does not have a Wounds value.

No problem.
Also, just to be clear, Monstrous Creature does not bestow the Eternal Warrior USR. A model has to have Eternal Warrior listed or have some other special rule (like Synapse) bestow Eternal Warrior (or a similar effect) on it.

I felt that pakman was implying that MCs in general were immune to ID. No big deal.

If the attack is stated as causing instant death then nids within synapse are imune.
If the attack is not an instant death attack (such as the ork shokk attak gun 6, 6 case) then synapse makes no difference.
Thus as CSM blissgiver, eldar wraithcannon and force weapons state clearly that they cause instant death... well they are out of luck, nids in synapse range are imune.
