all in all im going for a fully mounted ork army, all with lances instead of spears, and bretonian style barding on the wolves / boars, nothing gained from it all, just looks good.

lord / hero: just characters mounted on boars.

core: wolf riders.

special: boar boys and 1 boar charriot.

rare: giant (see below)

ok, since my whole army will be mounted i dont want the giant to be an exception lol, sounds crazy? im going for a nice big plastic giant, alot of armour, shield and lance, mounted on some form of beast, was thinking about using the rhinox model from the ogres, but im not sure it will be big enough, any ideas?

it will be a lot of work, that is for sure. The Rhinox with the old metal giant will work. The new giant is too big to do it IMHO... the old one is a lot smaller (bigger then the ogres are, but only 2 giant heads )

If you start the conversion please make a blog or something, because I am curious how it will go...

www.forgeworld.co.uk has bull rhinox riders... the beasts are much larger, although you will dole out a bit more on them

what about the Stegadon?

I'm not sure of the actual dimensions to the giant, but if you could get him sitting in the howdah - al la Greasus Goldtooth - it would look cool

ravurion: ive got a rinox at the momeny and the old metal giant, it looks way too small lol.

thanks kiwi, ive tried my friends one allready on the metal giant, that looks too small, so the plastic one will look even smaller lol

kiwi, being primarily a l-man player ive pulled the howdah off of one of my steggys, the metal one is an ok fit, but im not sure about the plastic one just yet, ill have to try.

thanks everyone for your advice, if worsed comes to the worsed ill have to scratch build one out of milliput, also, ive looked at the ork warlord on boar bust from forge world, its expensive, and his legs are part of the boar but i think it might be possible.

What about doing somehting similar to that dwarf being carried on a shield.

You could have four boys boyz carrying the giant on a litter.

Or maybe forest spider fitted to his feet like roller skates.

marielle, i was going for a giant beast, mainly for the shock value, how many people have made something like that before? lol, might have to just scratch build a giant boar.

ok, currently working on the giant idea.
started mounting the old metal giant on a steggadon, thinking about changing the theme to southlands orks, so orks riding cold ones, that sort of thing.
