Facebook is a pretty big thing right now so I was wondering if there is a dakka FB group. If not, it would be a great place to discuss the game and to find more people to join the site. or is the fact that we have a forum make it illogical to do this

Plus, Facebook loves having your personal data and so do the app companies.

Partly why I stay away from giving Facebook information, it's mine to do with as I please not theirs.

I was actually wondering today if Dakka had a facebook page or fan site or whatever, or if Yak & Lego were cooking one up.

Frankly, I'd rather see Yak and Lego put their energies into finishing their projects for DD proper (the gallery, for example) than start something new, but perhaps down the line, or if one of the mods wanted to make it their project...

That's a great idea, get people together in an online community where we can all discuss wargames, share pictures and otherwise communicate with like-minded people all over the globe!

I've been on FaceBook for some time and I'm in a couple of wargames groups there. Sadly they are rubbish compared to Dakka or the other "conventional" wargames forums I am in. I think a Facebook Dakka group would be redundant.

If people want to share their FaceBook IDs, why not. It could be useful for players who have a lot of wargame interests outside 40K/WHFB. You could put it in your sig.

why don't we make a thread for Facebook or MySpace pages.

i agree that a facebook group would be a bit redundant...
i joined facebook just for the 'eavy metal group, and aside from bein' "friends" with 'em, there is almost no activity...i do most of my chattin' with darren and fil through hotmail, or pm's on coolmini...
forums have way more action goin' on than my space or facebook anyday...
