Your Boyz are looking great. Who says Red and Green should never be seen?
Maybe someone who got crumpled by the Speed Freaks.

Nice to see a darker red rather than a bright orange one. And it looks very tidy work, well done.

I really like the red, it came out very nice. Is that Mechrite, with a Baal Red wash...maybe Devlan Mud wash too? The flames look good, and add some variation. but maybe a little more in the way of variation on the next batch of boyz would help. By that, I mean how you painted them all torso and boots red. Kinda switch it up a bit, being uniform is for Blood Axes..and nobody wants to be like dem weedy gits!

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

thanks for the comments guys. its nice to see ork love out there. as for the paints I am using "Formula P3" I just think the colors come out a little richer in some ways. The washes I used was just a normal black wash which then got painted over with highlights. I was kind of going for a grimy look with the skin. Also I was never a fan of the orangish reds that they have shown the freeks in. as for variation it will happen. this was just the first troop.

for your enjoyment here are a couple more shots

and yes I know the shells comming out of the gun are not painted yet. I just noticed after taking the pic but that will be solved after this post.

Next to come is my Wazdakka WIP.

Ok I promised Wazdakka... so here is one days work and I started with him. I was goint for as close a representation of the picture in the codex for him and this is what I have come up with so far before green stuffing.

The bike is another story however. right now I donot like where I am headed with it but this is what I had come up with sofar and I will be scraping it most likely.

this was to be his big dakka gun but it will probably be scrapped as well.

I am currently rethinking the bike design and trying for a representation of what's in the book. So While I am working out the kinks to that, this is what I have toiled on for the last couple days.

Do you make your bike bases or are you using some pre-made kind?

I use a 40mm round, cut in half with a 40mm square in between.

the bikes themselves are just primered.
However the bases I make myself, alsmost the same way you do. I found that after droping a couple bases on accident that they would easily fall apart so I took to the following process. I use the GW plastic glue and glue the pieces to a very thin piece of plastic card and let it sit over night. The next day I cut off the excess and trim accordingly with an exacto. The bases are much more sturdy and have a greater tendancy to sit flat on a table instead of bending or curling.
