Ok stopped playing 40k just after 4ed rules came out, found the rules too clonkly and didnt really work, shooting was lame and CC always ruled the day. What changes have they made to the rules that could bring me back?

Ok heres a list of things that might work: Smaller size games, i always thoguh there was to many figures on the table and things always got to messy.

Slicker rules for shooting, CC and Vs tanks and rules that change the you go me go, i mean take turns in moving squads.

Fingers crossed.

The changes have definately improved the game, but they're not drastic.

If you want to alternate squads, forget it. It will never happen in 40k.

Smaller games - fine. Play at whatever points you want, but tournaments are still mainly 1500 pts (or larger) so this is the default standard.

CC is now much quicker (its quite rare to have protracted combats going on for round after round now)

Shooting is slightly more complex, but more realistic.

While you sleep, they'll be waiting...

Have you thought about the Axis of Evil pension scheme?

5ed is better though CC is still powerful. It always will be in 40K.

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

While I enjoyed playing my first 5th edition and though the new rules do make the game more interesting and bring some interesting tatics. I still think it brought unnessecary clunkiness to the game and slowed down the whole process.

I think 4th edition is definetly the best.

I play!!!!

This isnt a dig at 40K, but you are looking for the wrong rules.

The ones you are looking for is called "AT-43".

That game has exactly what you are looking for.
