I am in process of collecting ideas and parts for my future drop troop army I have whole concept of how will they look, but I just need some ideas about lasguns, since I want them to have something different, than a standard lasgun...I was thinking about converting them with bolter parts, adding magazine of bolter and that down part that marines hold in their left hand...do you have some suggestions for some converting options,or is there any shop that sells some "real" weapons(like m4a1...) in scale? I saw those pulse rifles, but they look just a bit too smal to me...

You could go for autoguns - same stats as a lasgun so theres no rules/fluff problems, and they all had magazines coming out the bottom.

Can you still get the old necromunda weapon sprue from GW?? It had a ton of metal autoguns I used for an IG army once...

Try hasslefreeminiatures. They ahave a great range of alternate guns that go well with IG.

There's some pretty cool looking AKs there, but check out their other weapons, too.

Are they in scale with guardsmen? they seem a bit poor quality, are those metal or plastic weapons?

Kid_Kyoto uses them pretty extensively. You can see some here in this thread: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/214627.page.

I'm not sure what they're made of, but shoot him a PM - he'd be able to tell you.

on that topic, I need grenade launchers in my guard squads, but I don't actually have grenade launchers. I can't find anything close to a grenade launcher.

A gun is a medium, a bullet a brush.

The current IG grenade launcher is actually pretty close to the modern squad rotary cylinder grenade launcher. I've got a bunch from my Cadians that I'm not using. PM me with how many you need and what you have available in trade and we'll see what we can work out.

My IG use 1/32 model weapons from Dragon's quartermaster series. If you click on my web link I have pictures of the box. Although 1/32 should be too large for 28mm GW guns are so oversized they end up looking OK.

I've not used the Assault Group's stuff but I note it's out there, and Hasslefree makes Aliens-style M1 pulse rifles so they're a solid pick too.

The one problem is plastic cadian have the hand molded to the lasgun so you either have to carve them loose, sculpt hands or use some substitute. The Catachans have open hands but well... they're catachans.

Doh - sorry, Kid_Kyoto - I apologize - didn't mean to be mis-identifying your stuff. My bad.

You can make grenade launchers like this:

Follow the first couple of steps on the dysartes.com tutorial. (The link takes you to the page with the conversion) It works pretty well. Actually, that looks like you were planning to do anyway. (Note: they do have ammo clips on them, you just can't see them very well) Don't forget the smg look either:

Sorry, I don't have one in colour yet.

those are all very pretty but the entire squad is already not gw and, yes it is very cool, but I don't want my guys to have combi lazgun grenade launchers.

I really like how those bolter-lasguns look

just a question, since cadians have arms modeled on lasgun, what did you do? curved them, and took some other arms,or?

Those are all the grenade launchers in my army, so as you can see, only two of them are holding the grip of the gun. There's one arm with a hand that isn't molded onto the gun and I used that. The rest are all cunning conversions involving the flamer arm and the missile launcher arm. Apart from the one on the left.
