I really like the idea of a lysander-wing army of a few scout squads infiltrating with teleport homers and the rest of my army being terminators deep striking with lysander...30+ termies all showing up at once with no scatter? nasty...but idk if it would work well with so much troop centered objective capturing-ness in the new edition 40k rulebook....post wat you think...i will have an idea list up in a cupl days

Hey, I don't know if you're aware but the new SM codex comes out next month. Lysander Wing style armies will be going the way of the dodo. So unless you need this army for an upcoming tournament and already have the models you may not want to invest too much time or money into this.

Not to burst your bubble of enthusiasm, just giving you a heads up.

I play

I will magnetize (now doing LED as well) your models for you, send me a DM!

do you kno if it would still b possible to do the same thing just without lysander and all his rules?

There is rumored a 1st turn Terminator deepstrike in similar fashion to the Deathwing. However, Lysander's big ability of everyone showing up on a single reserve roll is also rumored to be gone.

You should be able to deep strike 30 Terminators (10 in each squad for all the Elite slots).

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

thank you...will there still be terminator command squads? personally ive heard some rumors (the salamanders character's insane special rules come to mind) that seem absolutely ridiculous...but i wouldnt put it past gw to show some more love to their obvious favorite army...tho that could b bcuz its wat almost all beginners start with and they need to be sold to the hobby asap....but thats a different subject entirely

All signs point towards NO more Terminator Command Squads.

The All Mighty GW Pendulum has swung, and swung HARD in the opposite direction of the 4th Edition Codex Assault Cannon.

well that puts a damper on things...two more termie squads to b exact....but oh well, i think ill still go with 30 terminators for elites....i should have a list up soon...and tho it would be getting extremely expensive couldnt a command squad take terminator honours and THEN terminator armor?

If you're going to run 30 Terminators you're probably going to be much happier running them as Deathwing. Then at least your 1200+ pts points sink is at least considered troops.

And I doubt command squads will have access to terminator armor, but typically the +1 attack from terminator honors is included in the of terminator armor.

this is true...i would have to stick with 5 to a squad tho...ill prolly wait to c wat goodies will be unveiled in the new sm codex and then make my decision

how does this sound for a list using the space marine codex?
HQ

Master-100
artificier armour
power weapon
storm bolter

5 marine command squad-156
bp and ccw
1 plasma gun
1 flamer
apothecary
standard
infiltrate

ELITES

10 terminators-445
2 assault cannons
chainfist

10 terminators-445
2 assault cannons
chainfist

10 terminator assault squad-400

TROOPS

10 scouts-148
bolters
sergeant w/ terminator honours and teleport homer

10 scouts-148
bolters
sergeant w/ terminator honours and teleport homer

8 scouts-157
7 snipers
sergeant w/ terminator honours and teleport homer

basically all the scouts and the command squad will infiltrate and take cover if possible...if not my objective scoring scouts will probably b over looked for the power armoured command squad for most of the fire...and then my terminators will come in to fight and hopefully distract the rest of my opponents army that hasnt been shot and while theyre closing in so will my command squad while my scouts move around trying to take any possible objectives...any ideas?
