I have some green stuff that is probably around 4 or 5 years old at this point. Is it still usable or should I just get some new stuff?

Penetrating so many secrets, we cease to believe in the unknowable. But there it sits nevertheless, calmly licking its chops.

I would get new stuff for use in modeling. The old stuff is still good for patching holes in walls or very rough modeling like ground effects.

could be used for bulking out a model before putting the finished surface over. how did you keep it? if it was in the freezer it may still be ok.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

It's probably fine. I've got some that is at least as old and have no trouble with it. There is a tiny bit of hardened stuff where the two colors touch but is easily removed.

Why not just try some? What exactly do you have to loose?

Had another putty once, much like greenstuff in many ways apart from the fact is wasn't green in colour. When this when hard, the trick was to microwave it for a moment, and this rejuvinated the putty making it pliable and soft again. Might work for greenstuff.

It depends on if it's still good or not!

Don't mean to be smart (ok, I did) but just mix some up and see what consistency you get. If it is free of dry chunks, cures at a normal rate, and is as workable as it should be, then it's fine. It will probably depend on how it has been stored.

The problem I have had with old green stuff is that it becomes tough and firm and so is a pain to work with, but if yours is still "gooey" it should be ok.

Good luck.
