Okay, I ran into a problem in the close combat weapon section on page 42. It gives a list of different weapon configurations and tells what happens when you use those different configurations. The one thing that I ran into was that when you use a normal ccw and a special ccw, you get an extra attack and benefit from the "bonuses" only. It clarifies below that you don't get the extra attack, but it never says that if you use a p-fist and say a bolt pistol, you take the negative side effects of the powerfist. (i.e. striking at I 1). So, does this mean that powerfists get the double strength bonus, but strike at normal initiative if thay are paired with another regular ccw? Thanks for the help

Wishful thinking here. If you use the double strength you strike at initiative 1. Sorry.

Sorry to be complicated. What I meant to say is that because the rule about using a special ccw and a ccw says you get the bonuses, but it doesn't mention the negatives, it seemed to me that powerfists paried with bolt pistols, las pistols etc. would strike at normal I.

btw, I don't play this way, I just thought it would be an interesting discussion on what other people thought of it.

GWs rules are exclusionary not permissive. If the rules don't say that using a second ccw removes all negatives, they don't. I don't think there's anything to discuss really.

What's more, you don't even get the extra attack with your offhand weapon if you want to use the power fist. So if you like to think about it this way, you can't possibly be modified by the bolt pistol's initiative because it's not even hitting the enemy.

That's good to know, thanks guys. The thing that threw me off though is that in the section right before, they mention that the weapons recieve all + and -'s, and the one we talked about here didn't

Remember it is only when the off-hand weapon is a Special Close Combat weapons, that you have to option of not using the Powerfist.
