okay well i used a horse from the chariot box set as I think the normal silver helm horses look like crap what yall think?

I like it, very clean style and it's simple. Thats part of the problem I think with most people, they forget that sometimes something that is done in a simple way can look just as good as an overly detailed piece.

the horse's eyes bug me i'm affraid - i have a small pocket book to horse breeds that i keep handy for referencing that sort of thing. the iris of the horse usually takes up about 95% of the eye and is very dark -

Great idea, the silver helm horses are butt ugly which is a shame. For fluff reasons they should be in almost any HE army but good job not waiting for them to redesign them. I always picture them with more elaborate helms though, might wanna add some doo-dads.

That blue is really nice and crisp. Love it man.

the horse bugs me a bit. its eyes are more like a cats eye. and the highlighting on the horse needs some work.

im not the one to ask about how to paint a horse... i hate painting horses, which is exactly why i am dreading the day i have to start painting my WE's

for the dude on top.

get your fine detail brush out, and some black ink. run the ink down the resses of his scale armor. (DONT do a wash)
it is time consuming, but i have found it helps the model a lot. at least it worked on my LOTR guys.

do the same thing with chestnut ink for the golden armor on the horse.

it might just be the pic. but are his gloves painted gold?? if so, i would say that they should be something non matalic

same with the helmet... it just needs something extra painted on it. mabey a lion or horse???

IRL the shading is great ...stupid cam always makes my stuff look like crap lol, ohh well and I have fixed the horses eyes and based it atm I cant find anything that looks good on the helm I might put the fethers from the archerss...what yall think on that?


*edit* forgot to mention that the blue was doen by usinf mordian blue->Asurmen blue wash->high light of 2 part UM blue and 1 part shadow grey
