Hello.

First let me say "hello" to you all as I am new to dakka dakka. Ill try to be as helpful as possible. =)

Getting to the point of this thread: I am about to take on a friend of mine who will be playing tau. It will be a 1500 pt game. This is the list ive come up with. I dont have a lot of models other than these so tell me if im doing the best with what I have.

A few notes:


I know the hunter killer is a point sink. Im just putting it on purely for fun and its a long running inside joke my friend and I have.


My reasoning for the 2 chimeras is as follows:

It will make him have to make some choices with his anti-tank units. He can fire at my russes, but my chims will be barreling down on him with lots of flamers (for firewarriors), a heavy flamer (more dead firewarriors), and 3 pretty good heavy weapons in his grill. Or he can choose to halt my chimeras advance but if he does that Ill keep laying down ordinance on him unharmed. Thats the basic idea I have for those anyway. Atleast getting those broadsides to spread out their fire maybe by fielding more stuff they would want to hit. I was just going to go with one chim but i think 2 will be much more effective. especially if i make one a "mini hellhound".

I know hes bringing a hammerhead so thats why i made the anti-tank lascannon squad. I made them vets because Ill want them to hit the hammerhead as much as possible since 5 edition makes it sort of tougher to kill vehicles.

-----What is that veteran upgrade doing under the lascannons?
I got a point value of only 175? J.O. =40 + Iron Discipline (5) +Hon. Imp. (25)+ Lascannon teams (105)= 175?
Maby the first thing to do with this list is some math checking with a calculator.

-----Wait a moment- do you mean a Hardened Vet squad? A normal squad can't have that many weps an that few men. The chim's cost is wonky as well.

-----these tanks are sooooo expensive. The codex i have in front of me says that that pattern of russ lands in at 165 points. What's going on here?

I dont know what to say- you have serious problems with the math in this list.

yeah wow, i made a lot of mathematical erros in here. I added the russes twice haha. im just going to make a completely new thread with correct math.
