I have no idea what base to put my Chaos Lords/Sorcerers with demonic steeds on. As per 5th edition rules I put it on the base it comes with. But the thing is I have no reference to go off of. As far as I know there is not a recent model of any of these things besides the Juggernaut. I'm currently doing up a Nurgle Sorc with the Palanquin and I don't know if I should be putting him on a bike base or a single standing unit base. My main problem is that the unit type under the entry for the Palanquin of Nurgle does not change the unit type it only makes it count as two models in a land raider. So it moves as a normal foot slogging troop. But does it need a base that is long like the mount he rides? Or does he get a troop base because his unit type is not changed?

Once upon a time, I told myself it's better to be smart than lucky. Every day, the world proves me wrong a little more.

I would use Epidemus model as a size guideline for your Palaquin base that you know that nobody can complain with (since he's riding on a Palaquin).

So whatever base Epidemus has, use that base size for your model and you know you'll never get a complaint.

yakface's 40K rule #1: Although the rules allow you to use modeling to your advantage, how badly do you need to win your toy soldier games?
yakface's 40K rule #2: Friends don't let friends start a MEQ army.
yakface's 40K rule #3: Codex does not ALWAYS trump the rulebook, so please don't say that!

Juggernaughts and Epidemus come on the 60mm round and 50mm square bases, so there you go.
