I know there have been previous Land Raider Spam armies posted, was considering using something like this as a gimmick/wierd army in tournaments (normally play guard). I know it can be defeated by a wrong matchup (necrons, etc), but whats the overall opinion of this in a 1750 tourney setting? Points might be slightly off but should be close.
1750 Adepticus Annoyingus (Adepticus Mechanicus Armored Co using Demonhunters)
101-Grey Knight Captain, Psychic hood, incinerator
34-Inquisitor, 2 mystics, boltgun
258-Land raider transport w/extra armor and smoke
62-Inquisitor, 2 mystics, psycannon
258-Land raider transport w/extra armor and smoke
90-Inquisitorial Stormtroopers(7), 2 plasma guns
90-Inquisitorial Stormtroopers(7), 2 melta guns
80-Inquisitorial Stormtroopers(7), 2 flamers
258-GK Land Raider Crusader w/smoke
258-GK Land Raider Crusader w/smoke
258-GK Land Raider w/extra armor and smoke
Use:
GK is required for GK Land raiders, have incinerators and psycannon for demons/kairos/wraiths etc. There are a few points available by changing the stormtrooper count/few weapons if something needs to be modified.
Generally, in battles where everything is allowed to start on the board, everything starts in a land raider, and the idea is that the opponent must use s9 or 10 weapons and all his other forces should be impotent. So I would run around killing that which threatens the land raiders first...
Have 3 squads of stormies to capture things at the end of the game, with a mix of weapons. I would put them in the crusaders/regular land raiders depending on what i fought (horde, etc). Biggest weakness are lascannons/railguns/necrons/demolisher/lances obviously, so list would depend on what i went up against.
Another weakness, dropping meltaguns ig/sm or dreads are somewhat countered by the mystics, who would ride in a reg land raider near a crusader, to allow the option of either one shooting at anything deep striking within 4d6 inches (average 14).
So how annoying would this list be to fight in a general tourney, and would you change anything about it to make it more viable? Keep in mind i know this is a gimmick list.

Hmmm I posted this list months ago.
You really should get 2 LRC. Hordes will make you cry if you don't.
Not sure why you are equipped the way you are, where is your mass of flamers? You need those to make up for your lack of numbers.

Oops I read the two LRC as LR. Must be the points costs all being the same. Why do you have extra armor on the GK LR? You know this isn't needed?
I was mostly talking about your psycannon equipped mystic, and your 2 PG, and 2 meltaguns...in those stormtrooper units.
Why you have 7 guys instead of more warriors with flamers in your retinues is beyond me.
3 flamers = cripples most enemy units besides MC.

Ive found psycannons to be incredibly useful for some problem units at range (like Kairos, DMC, etc), plus they can take out stray land speeders, etc. As I have few units, I would only come out to burn hordes if i really needed too off of objectives and the like... But the guys would simply hide otherwise in the LR.
The mystics are there to protect the reg land raider (and any nearby lrc) from deep strikers, and seem vitally important for that.... Im assuming of course that they could still use their ability while riding in their respective tanks.
As i stated, the meltas and flamers can all be switched to whatever is more needed, but I am more inclined to keep them as is, as i could use each weapon based on what the opponents presented (ie termies, vehicles, or hordes, etc)
Its pretty much what everyone else has posted, with a few minor changes. Really not much to work with after 1250 of 1750 points are spent on tanks....as for the 7 guys instead of more flamers, that can be changed, but its more of just my fluffish inclination against 5 man units when this list is already minimized

I'm pretty much in line with Stelek on this one minus a few things. You have enough Anti Armor, anything that can, should be carrying a flamer equivalent. Both of the inquisitors should take incinerators, and the mystics are a good idea to prevent Deep Striking meltas.
I think the Extra Armor is fine since you want to be moving the whole time, and 5 points to prevent stunned is worth it.
I would say take 3 LRCs since they're more versatile and will help with Horde control.

GK LR do not need extra armor, they have POTMS now.
Mystics are indeed a good choice to stop deep strikers, but adding in flamers to those units makes those units do something besides stop deep strikers (like, for games where the opponent has no deep strikers!).
You don't need to use 3 flamers on hordes. They own the face off marines once you use the LR to tank shock them into position for maximum burnage.
if you can hit everyone in a marine squad with 3 flamers, those marines are getting gutted. 15 wounds eats special weapons, sarges, and alot of regular guys. Toss in some LR fire, and the squads gone. Really. I know, I've been testing alot of lists lately. lol

Why are you wanting to move a bunker without assault troops within it?
What'd I miss? How much better it is if you move so you can't fire everything?

Sure, I agree, good point for this list.
You, however, seemed to be implying by your earlier post that Machine Spirit for GK Land Raiders allowed you to move if Stunned. It does not.

Firstly, I don't want to start getting nitpicky here or start an argument, but come on. Here is your quote with "extra armor" replaced with the function of extra armor.

Clearly you are implying that POTMS allows you to move if stunned. Now you could have said " GK LR do not need extra armor, they should never move" which would have clearly gotten your second point across. You were wrong about POTMS, no big deal. I'm not a "Stelek-hater", I actually think you have great ideas and think outside the box. But you gotta bring that ego down a notch sometimes.
That's all I have for this thread, I think Stelek's suggestions are good and I run something similar at 1000 points (people hate 3 Land Raiders at 1000 points)

Good old rock, nothing beats rock. I think this would be a fun list to break out from time to time but in all honesty most of your matches are going to be determined before dice even roll. Against some armies you're going to be pretty much untouchable, whereas Necrons, Dark Eldar, and Big Bugs are going to give you real trouble.

Ok so I'll modify my suggestion. If you intend to be moving your landraiders, then extra armor is neccesary. If you play like Stelek by driving the Landraider up onto the objective and camping it there blocking access, then EA probably isn't as much an issue.
I like mobility, so I roll with EA, I also only run 3-4 LRs rather than the full 5-7, so my strategic style is different.

Actually my LR prefer to sit back, outside of range of meltaguns; and fry the enemy with ranged fire. lol
