I wrote this list up quickly last night, so it may not be the best ever list, but I think it looks fairly efective to me.

So that's 1502. I am quite certain I have all aspects covered (hoping anyway). I have 2 exorcists for anti tank, along with 2 meltas in a rhino and 2 footslogging meltas. The Seraphim are going to be used to go after things such as devestator squads, vehicles if needed or troops if they are getting to close to my sisters. I am fairly certain I have enough anti-horde fire power, but is there enough anti- tank power?

All VSS should come with Book of St Lucius.

This is a mech list but you don't have the mech in it, where are the rhinos for the ten girl squads at mate?

Small seraphim squads are bad, you cannot hide them.

The double canoness gets you slapped with trout, btw. The gear and retinue for both are off. What do those units do, besides spend points?

This in the end looks like a marine list. A couple preds, a dev squad, a small assault squad, a command squad, a jump pack hero, and some tactical squads. This worked in 4E, but was never very competitive. It does not work for Sisters, and definitely not in 5E.

I need to shave 5 points off somewhere…
I took what Stelek had to say into consideration, however I chose to keep the 2 canoness for the cheap faith points. I also plan on using one of the sister units as a tarpit and
the foot canoness will keep them in place. Also I wanted to have a wide array of different units in my army and not just have them all the same. However, he question still remains,
will this do the trick? Or should I just make my list similar to what I have already seen?

If it really won't work I will change it.

Yeah. I don't really like the seraphim unit. Not really liking the Dominions overly either.

I can't find in my codex whether or not I can use inducted Guard Sentinels in my army. I was considering dropping the seraphim, jumping canoness and the dominions in favour for some sentinels. Can you point me in the direction of where I can find this information?

But on the other hand I did kind of want to go with a 'pure' sisters list. What would you recommend taking in a mech sisters list stelek?

Celestians, Sisters, Dominions, Rhinos, Immolators, Exorcists.

You can use IG Sents but you need two IG 'troops' units to do so. Armored Fist or Infantry platoon.

Battle Sisters squads do NOT need flamers.

The easy bake oven is dead.

Run meltaguns.

Need to kill infantry? FIRE YOUR BOLTERS!

Seraphim and Flying Nun are dead.

Run more battlesisters, more celestians.

You cannot mix n'match mech and non-mech in 5E anymore, it just does not work.

i don't quite get your view on mech sisters

why are flamers dead? i mean, if they were ever alive in 4ED, they should be even better now, with new template resolution and cover saves everywhere

also, why are seraphims dead? they got their special hit'n'run back and they are really usefull for keeping that nasty elite CC unit from charging a sisters squad...
and they can also keep up with rhinos no problems.

finally i can't see the point of celestians and dominions, sice they do exactly what our troops do, except they cost more and do not control objectives

Flamers aren't dead, but tanks and MC are alive.

Meltaguns stop both of those, flamers do not.

If you need to kill infantry, do it with bolters.

Seraphim are easily seen due to true line of sight. That means they get shot dead. How do you H&R then? Sisters don't care if they get charged.

Celestians and dominions come in small unit sizes (so can be defensive not just offensive like battle sisters squads are), celestians are automatically faithful; and having immolators means you have a tank people will worry about.

Stop worrying about controlling objectives so much, you don't need to control 6 of them! You need only control one and contest the rest.

i see your point now, but the sentence "sisters don't care if they get charged" puzzles me...
10 wounds T3 S3 go down real fast and they aren't capable of fighting back at all
this means that every unit engaged in melee is dead in one maybe two turns

what am i missing? i have to be within 12" (<8 for the flamers) to deal any real damage to a unit, but still it's rare to completly wipe a unit in one round of shooting (more so without templates)
next turn anything i was shooting to charges me and i'm done, unit lost, because even if i seriously reduced the enemy unit's number, i still suck so bad in CC that i'm gonna lose or be tied for a long time

Sisters are cheap.

Sisters stay on LD9.

Sisters reduced to say half strength, go invulnerable the next CC phase, and your chaplain is swinging at a barn.

Sisters will hold you on your turn, my turn, and your turn if I really want them to.

Or I can just let them lose combat whenever I want them to (i.e. when it's to my advantage).

Sisters can also hurt you when they charge (+2 to str or +2 to I).

If you don't bring flamers, all you need to be is within 12" with one of your guys and I will fire a ton of bolter shots and 2 meltaguns into your squad. Then I convert a few bolter hits into AP1, and it's not looking as pretty as it could be.

You don't seem to have much experience with Sisters (this is pretty normal). They have an answer for everything you can do.

i don't have much experience, of course : )
thus my many (and probably dumb : D) questions
(only ever had 1 game at 1850 and less than 10 at 1500)

by the way, the list i play at 1850 is:

cheap flying nun
4x sisters squad on rhino (HF-F, HF-M, HF-M, M-M)
2x seraphim squads (with 2 flamers and brazier)
3x exorcist

next game i will try dropping one seraphim squad and getting one more troop squad

i wonder what's the "basic" sister list in your opinion

Here you are:

Mech Sisters.

Variant 1: Lots of flamer Immos and Rhinos, no Exorcists.
Variant 2: Multimelta Immos, lots of Rhinos, max Exorcists.

Foot Sisters:

A few Large (15+) Sister squads. Small dominion and celestian squads for tank-hunting and speed bumping. Retributor squads with heavy bolters. NO tanks.

Fast Sisters:

Max Seraphim. Pricey but oh well. Two flying nuns. Also pricey but oh well. Bring hand flamers and braziers, and litanies. Then bring anything else you want really. You are banking on the Seraphim anyway.

Carnival:

Or should I shout "Carneevaaaal!!"?

All the crap Andy Hoare stuck in the Codex in one big bag of fun: Arco-flagellants, Repentia, Zealots (when they were legal), Penitent Engines, etc.

Can you elaborate on why having two cannonesses is a bad idea? Just out of curiosity, they have always performed pretty well for me, so why not two? I'm currently re-building and re-thinking how I do sisters for 5th, and this topic is filled with interesting advice.

who cares? so do six immolators, or three exorcists, hell mech sisters in general. sisters have a lot in their lists that piss people off. faith will even sometimes really piss somebody off.

i thought you had like some thus far unseen reason why two of them was inefficient or less than optimal.

Well actually I often find the extra faith point a waste, and a Palatine is BS5 so is for my purposes just as good.

You don't REALLY need LD10. It's just nice to have around. You really don't need two LD10.

So I spend my 10 points elsewhere.
