Basically, the Wave Serpent Squads are my long range support, who are also rather mobile. They operate independently from the Vypers and Jetbikes, who hassle enemy infantry. The Shining spears can do the same until it comes time for them to be needed, when they will probably be helped by the Scorps and Banshees.

Catch me if you can.

You have a rather big lack on troops. Is there a theme or craftworld you are trying top follow?

Although you have a great mobile army, you lack both numbers and punch, as most other armies can either shoot you too bits at long range or have the numbers to overwhelm your eldar. (i'm an eldar player).

Your fire support is very limited and again SM you will fight an unhil battle.

It took every ounce of willpower I had to not include ANY Aspect Warriors. I like the punch this one has, plenty of troops as well, some sturdy tanks, and Bright Lances, Shuricannons; everywhere. The Farseer is there to guide the Vypers, with 18 S6 shots in each squad whilst still moving 6", and 9 when moving more than that (including the obscured bonus for moving fast). The Firebase consists of the Guardians and the tanks, and the Jetbikes and Vypers move around and harry enemy units. How about now?

Catch me if you can.

Alright my advice would be to drop your farseer and perhaps one guardian squad, and replace them with Eldrad. Plonk Eldrad in a Falcon, and just throw around Guides, Dooms and Fortunes willy-nilly.
Come to think of it, if you just dropped both squads of guardians, you could get more jetbikes, and remove the one random footslogging element you have left. Giving them a BL is also very much not worth it, considering you have 3 falcons with them, and warlocks with conceal are 100% not worth their points, as you should be able to get them in cover, and all you are doing is tacking 40pts onto your one BS3 shot. I would rather have shuricannon bikes, or spears.

If you keep your falcons together, and put the vypers behind, shooting through the 1-2" gaps between the falcons, you can get your vypers 4+ saves, and keep them in range for Eldrad goodness. They might be hampered with 24" range though.. =/

Overall, it would throw out a lot of shooting..obviously..but I think it would still struggle as it is now.

These are not necessarily "bad" lists, Burning Star.

I just don't see any hidden strength in the lists.

I do at least see what you are trying to do, so I'll see if I can't give you some help.

Stelek is right, they are not bad, but they are also not good.
Going semi-mech is not a good idea. The footsloggers will give your opponent a focus. He will target the footsloggers and you have to react with your mobile forces. Otherwise, if you go fully mobile, you can strike where you want.

A Banshee squad and a Scorpion squad in Serpents is a good starting point.
As troops you have Dire Avengers in a Serpent and 2 larger Jetbike units. Add to each squad a Warlock with spear and embolden.
Finally, 2 Fire Prisms and Vypers (if you have the pts) could give fire support.

I wish I had the points to squeeze in some more Farseer powers and some Spirit Stones, but I think I've finally found a niche I like. Plenty of mobile firepower, and plenty of powerful guns. The list pretty much speaks for itself.

Catch me if you can.

Guiding a Vyper squadron or a non-linked Fire Prism can be worth it. A typical Saim Hann style army. A Seer Council on jetbikes would be something to consider.

Combine the troops into 2 units, give them a warlock, give him embolden. Trust me.

Take scatter lasers on the Vypers. 24" is not where you want to be, when every bolter lucky glance 6 takes down a Vyper.

You can move in to finish a weakened squad, but moving in before it's weakened = plasma shot, lascannon, and some bolters. Can wipe your whole squadron out, which is bad.

scatter lasers or starcannons are better suited on vipers as both are long range and pack a punch to almost all troops

Agreed add something with a longer range, but remember that the Str of Defensive weapons was lowered that means that Shirikan Cannons are no longer defensive.

So if you move more than 6 inches you can only fire your mounted TL gun.

Upgrading the TL Cata to a Cannon is a waste of 10 points because you hardly ever be firing it.

Unless Im readling the list wrong.

No, I intended to keep them under the 6" move. New list though:

Those jetbike squads need to be 10 man.

They need a warlock with embolden.

Trust me.

The viper with EML is a waste of a firing platform, as the EML are bad at both blow tanks apart and disposing of troops.

@ Stelek:
I'll look into that. And I think I see where you're coming from.

@ Squig_herder:
I could probably move some points around to get BLs on the Vypers, but that drives their cost up a bit, and they're pretty easy to destroy. Thoughts?

Catch me if you can.
