It's been a while since I've been able to complete a mini. I have a bunch of half-finished projects lurking on my desk, mocking me whenever I enter the room. Today I was photographing a bunch of unpainted minis, prepping for another round of clearance auctions, and I decided to pick one of them and paint the dern thing. So here she is, two or three hours later.

Still need to refine my photo techniques, but the pic's fairly close. Something's missing from my painting techniques. I'm very pleased with the face (looks way better in real life), but the whole presentation just doesn't pop.

Comments? Ideas? Criticisms?

Bernard, float over here so I can punch you.

You did great with what you had to work with. I'm not a fan of Ral Partha minis. Ral Partha sculpts the worst heads... (not that I could do better). The pose looks very "un-assassin-y" to me. Looks more "circus knife-thrower-y."

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

I think quite the opposite. This is a lean rough girl from the street, not the usual 'bimbo' female miniture.

Nice paintjob too.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.
