Hey all

I noticed that you can potentially give every harlequin a kiss (side question-should you?) but the box set only comes with two kisses and also has two fusion pistols. Do those of you that play heavily in tournies custom make your units from blisters or does it matter? What would you suggest for someone entering hte tourney scene with harlies?

Thanks for any help!

EDIT: There is no such thing as a Herlequin....

"Every model must be WYSIWYG"

However hobby building or "scratch building" is perfectly acceptable.

Well I also ask because I was thinking of doing an all harlequin themed army, using the harlequin models as other aspect warriors - ccw/pistol as scorpions, kisses as true harlies and fusion pistols as fire dragons. I figure a slightly divergent color scheme towards green/red would help too...

Thanks!

For that i would suggest mixing harlequins with the current aspect warrior model, but it is totally legal (if done properly)

I use squads of 6 harlies and each squad has 5 troops correctly modeled with kisses and a shadowseer who does not have one modeled. I have played these guys extensively and informed opponent every time of the shadowseers equiptment. No problems for me.

If GW provided me a way to model my troops "accurately", I would do so.

Being unable to do so, I find myself drawn into the realm of the impossible--buying multiple boxes of Harlequins, specific blisters endlessly (so I get the same pose...no thanks), or bitz ordering arms.

All things that are neat, but I'm unwilling to do.

I assume all Harlequins have kisses. I could care less if they don't have them modeled.

I would really love to see the leader as the Solitaire, that would be such a hard model to make

QFT.

... actually don't think I've ever seen someone run the unit without the kiss.... I pretty much defaultly assume they'll have them.

I bought harlequin blisters instead of the box, and I converted my shadowseer, so they all have kisses.

Do you have a picture of this converted shadowseer you speak of? I would love to see it.

Well from what I've read, most people stay away from the box set of harlequins for this very reason... and instead just buy blisters. Personally I think it's a huge factor of fail on GW part for not putting out a box set with multiple options to field all the "possible" gear outfits.

PS: Personally I hate the clowns (Look/feel/fluff) so I refuse to use them. Luckily for me Eldar army is diverse enough to have plenty of other viable options.

Like I know people are hardcore against 'see this flamer is a plasma rifle because the box I had didn't have a plasma rifle bit', but for unique weapons that simply can't be used in any other unit so you can't get too confused, people are a little more relaxed.

The most gruesome of these is the Harlequin's Kiss. The Harlequin's Kiss resembles a sharpened tube, tapering to a wicked point, fixed to a warrior's forearm. The tube is actually filled with monofilament wires. When the Kiss is punched into a victim, the wires uncoil and flail around, slicing the victim apart from the inside

I mean, technically, it is just a big stabby device with a hole in the tip. If you were an ork player, you could model half-a-dozen things to 'count as' a kiss weapon.

Personally, Find a tyranid friend and ask for some talon bitz, drill a hole in the tip, add some jewels and paint it mechanical, glue it to the forearm. It doesn't look that hard to convert them.

It's not much of a conversion -- I just stuck a kiss on a shadowseer -- but I'll try to take a picture and upload it for you tonight.

I can't imagine why I proxied my Banshees for Harlequins while testing them out.

Now I remember. That harlie box is a big box of fail.

What else is new.

Okay, here she is. Unfortunately my harlequins were some of the first models I painted upon re-entering the hobby after a very long absence, so the paint job is not good and the flock on the base is coming off. But you can still see the kiss. I put her with a few or my more recently painted sisters.
