I don't like running only one prince and 2 oblits, they will eat a lot of heavy fire turn 1 and die.

Erik (and, admittedly, Stelek) are both right. You shouldn't run 2 lashes and have them both in separate forms. Your Obliterators will be under massive pressure, as well. I would have to say make the Combi-Plasmas Combi-Melta to bolster your scant anti-tank, and even then you'll be short. Obliterators are overrated as well, I would say you should be running at least 2 Preds with Lascannons.

I would type more, but The Mole is on. Season Finale!

Catch me if you can.

Oblits are rated just where they need to be, at the top of CSM's anti-tank. Run more. Don't run so much junk on those termies. They need a reaper autocannon very badly and the NMs without sonic weapons are begging not to suck.

Either run 2x DPs or none. They work incredibly in pairs. Good luck.

I'm still not convinced that mixing Sonic Blasters and Blastmasters is a good idea.

As far as the Demon Prince and Sorcerer go, I'm thinking that it might be easier to keep at least one of them alive if I keep the sorc in the squad. Monstrous Creatures really are hard to hide in 5th. I will be testing both ideas out. On that note, would not two sorc's with jump packs be just as good as demon princes, and easier to hide?

If I deep strike the termies, I think the heavy flamer will be alot more useful, but I don't know. I'm not really sure what a good armament for termies is these days, other than combi-plasma being awesome!

As far as the oblits, I know they rock, but I only have two right now, and I already have the 12 terminators, (consequently already built, got them in trade) and I'm trying to mitigate the whiny cries of "cheese" I hear from my regular opponents after they see two lashes.

The only part that I'm really not sure about are the termies. I'm not sure what role they play in this army, but I have 12 of them and I'd like to use them.

Ok here's what happens when you do not run DP in your army.

ALL long range fire goes into your obliterators.

Then you lose.

Convert the termies to oblits. It's not difficult.

Lash is far more dangerous with 9 oblits tossing plasma templates, actually.

Oblits should be able to take advantage of cover much better than a DP would, but your point is taken.

So how would you arm slaanesh termies, and would you deep strike them?

The Termies in my EC army don't get the MoS. They usually get combi weapons (no need to specify). Deep striking depends on the opponent. If their shooting is necessary in the 1. round, I'll deploy them as usual.

I only own two Obilits and I can tell you they never survive past turn two. They are vulnerable to small arms fire and that is what normally kills them. I will be using Havocs and Preds in the future. Not because they are better, but because they draw less fire. And I hate the Oblit models.

My Noise Marines are in ten man squads with 8 SBs, AC, PW, and a blast master. I've tried to make sacred number squads work, but the AC and BM can't survive with 5th's wound allocation rules. BMs are crap against armor, but great anti-infantry.

I plan on using Slaanesh Termies with Lightning Claws once the FW kits come out. Maybe I'll keep a flamer with a fist in there.

When you say small arms fire, do you mean bolters?

Ah. You're doing something wrong if they are dying to basic weapons on turn 1 or 2. You should come by and play a game, so I can see what you are up to.

I don't think I've ever been in range of basic weapons before turn 3.

I should have added a SEEMS TO to that first sentence. This is what happens when you speak in absolutes.

Ork Trukks and Wave serpents never get across the board on you? Saturday My opponent failed only one grot rigger roll on three Battle Wagons. I had Orks all over me on turn two and the Oblits died to Shoota boyz.

Funny thing about that game, I was winning the assaults. Losing the shooting contest and getting rammed and deff rolled to death.

BTW I hate the overwrite feature, is there a way to turn it off?

Sorceror lord? You mean sorceror, right? God I wish lords could be sorcerors again!

As it is, you're very scant on anti-tank. I'd kit one squad of termies with combi-plasma and heavy flamer, and the other combi-melta with autocannon.

Stelek is right about obliterators. they beat out terminators in all aspects. fielding a lot of them is helpful. i have found it is a useful tactic to deep strike a squad of them, blow apart a tank or two, and then butcher your opponent's infantry that manage securing home base. only 1 squad, so you can help the front with the other squads. if your obliterators aren't getting cover, then you have some changes in strategy to use! when using obliterators to help secure your objective, set yours in the back of some woods in your deployment zone, sit an infantry squad on it, then have one squad patrol the woods using its cover, while the last squad takes a high point and takes down heavy support.

If the opponent is shooting my oblits with basic weapons (Hi, I have a 2+ save and 2 wounds each) then what are my marines doing? Watching?

Of course Wave Serpents and Battlewagons get across the board at me. Usually I blow the latter up with meltaguns, and Wave Serpents dropping DA to fire at my oblits humors me greatly.

If you had 6 oblits you'd not have these problems. They bring down mech armies. You even have NM with blastmasters for added anti-tank support at range.

I guess my point is, if you aren't running a competitive Chaos army you can't complain when you lose to armies the competitive one can handle.
