Disclaimer: While I realize that it would be functionally more effective to run Cult Marines (specifically Plague ones) in place of all existing tactical Chaos marines - I do not have time to buy and paint that many additional models at this time.

1700 List:

HQ - Sorceror in Terminator Armor w/ Doombolt
Troops - 2x 10 strong CSM w/ 2x Plasma, Icon of Chaos Glory, Champion w/ Powerfist, Rhino w/ combi-weapon
Elite - 1x 3 man Terminators w/ combi-plasma
Fast Attack - 2x 8 strong raptors w/ 2x Meltagun, Icon of Chaos Glory, Champion w/ Powerfist
Heavy Support - 1x Three man obliterators, 1x 8 strong havocs w/ four heavy bolters

This leaves me with 40 points left over. Is it better to use these to swap to icon of nurgle in the raptors, or to buy two extra men and an icon for the havocs? Do I have too little anti-tank? Should I run two units of 2x obliterators by freeing up 35 points from somewhere?

I also realize that my HQ is functionally less useful than a prince. Since I don't own a prince, I figured I'd try to keep him cheap. The Lord is a bad deal all the way around, so the sorceror seemed like a good compromise. For some reason, he gets discount terminator armor, making him 5 points cheaper than a terminator lord, (and 10 points more than a powerweapon lord!). The upgrade makes him a little more survivable vs. small arms, gets deepstrike and is choppy enough to cause a minor inconvenience if my opponent's didn't shoot him.

Well, I'd take one 10 men Raptor squad and a large Terminator squad. One kill point less. The Sorcerer is too weak in cc, replace him by a Daemon Prince. The rest looks fine.
