The rules for ICs now allow them to join Units in reserve, but the rules for Dedicated Transports explain that during deployment, only the unit that purchased them can join the unit. What does that mean for the EC and Drop Pod relation?

The Reserves rules allow you to put the IC in the Transport with the unit.

Yes, the transport can contain the unit it is dedicated to at the start... but if the IC is joined, he's a part of the unit.
