YO DAKKA DAKKA!

Eldar warlock... Trying out a sort of 'wood elf' kind of colour scheme - at least sticking to the browns and greens. I hate elves, but Eldar are bearable. Grey as a plastic contrast colour, I'm not sure where to place it on guardians...

Exposure...

Also started on jetbike. Wooden sort of wings. I wanted to try texturing the areas I wanted 'woody', but can't think of anything.
The thing sticking out the front is a curved goblin sword that sort of just fit there well... but you can't see it well.

Any comments?

I'd take grey to the extreme and go all the way to white as a contrast color.

I like that warlock's robes. The jetbike canopy is hard to make out, can you take an exposure pic?

Will be highlighting the grey up to white - it's a few thin coats of fortress grey over boltgun, with a light black wash before highlight.

Exposed pic was a little earlier - no wire around spear head, no brown pattern on robe. Will update this thread when I get my Storm Guardians for the 'lock painted.

Grey/white is annoying me on jetbike dude. I did want to stay away from white, but there's nothing else obviously bright enough that isn't green or yellow...

I'd honestly go with a darker shade of brown but that's me.

If you need bright you could go red, though you're risking looking "Christmasish"

Heh... yeah, staying the hell away from red for that exact reason. Not exactly 'bright', I guess - I just wanted something plastic-looking, to tie the woody elfiness in with the space opera. Maybe I'll varnish a grey bit and see how it goes...
