What is the best war warker weapon layout option?

What is the worse weapon layout for the war walker?

What is the most versatile weapon option for anti-tank and anti-horde?

All these are just my opinion of course:

1) two scatter lasers
2) two brightlances (too expensive for how fragile this model is)
3) scatter laser & brightlance (or missile launcher)

most versitle is TL Scatter Lasers for anti horde

If you want a weapon that gives you best anti horde and anti tank, you can't beat twin EML's Crack for tanks, plasma for horde.

I stick with twin scatter lasers, but that is just me.

For point trimming-I've found the Shuriken Cannon/Scatterlaser to be pretty effective. I never start the unit on the table and always Outflank with them. It gives them some added protection and usually ensures I'm within range as soon as they enter the table.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Scatter Lasers is best in my book.

all Missle launchers could be useful.

Outflankers with Shuricannons is a good build.

I need more feedback, concerning the most versatile weapon for walkers.

The best weapon for War Walkers is taking Fire Prisms instead.

They require massive support to not suck.

As soon as they get armor 11 on the front, I'll change my mind on their sucktitude level.

I think you have received as much feedback as you need. Missile launchers or scatter lasers. Done.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Some people do take shuriken cannon for the dirt cheapness. Its 24" range that is the problem there. For this reason dont mix shuirken cannon with scatter lasers, if you want your anti-horde take either or.

Personally I would go with 2x missile launchers, it has something against everything, anti horde with new blast rules, anti vehicle, ap3 and an outside chance at taking on Av14. The only thing it cannot do is kill terminators.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

Countering the hate on the bright lances. I've found that the tall war walker makes a great tank hunter because it's easy to get it hull down but it's still tall enough to pick out whatever targets. That quickly counters it's fragility.

What exactly do you put your warwalkers behind to easily get "hull down" on a 5th ed table?

I am having a tough time finding enough to hide my squadrons behind.

Scatter/EML for me. 5 shots a piece and can kill most anything (especially with Guide in play!) They have killed the Nightbringer in one volley!

Seems unlikely.

Hit on 4+, re-roll to hit...wound on 4+, fail all 4+ saves.

Any ruined wall or broken groundcar will give the War-Walker good cover. As will half the hills out there.

Agreed. Star cannons are very...'not good' anymore with all the cover saves. I don't even consider them an option anymore in most games.

Yay GW pendulem effect.

What pendulem effect?....scatterlasers en masse have always been better than starcannons in the current dex....

Yeah, but it happened! the 4++ is basically Scout armor if you are not firing (high priced) low AP guns. So he fails half the time. I got lucky and wounded a lot with the 10 Scater hits and did his "God" ass in.

This was in 4th ed. so I guess my fashion sense is ahead of its time...

I would much rather have twice the shots and half the cost and sacrifice the AP. Most of my Eldar are set up with cheap high volume fire. My most expensive unit is my Reapers, but I can't leave that much firepower out of my list.
