Hmmm I played in one in Idaho, one in Wyoming, two instate, one in Arizona, one in Nevada...all this year.
Not playing at Hastur's does not equate not playing in RTT's.

Ack, getting forum bashed and dont know why. Mr Stelak, Ill be running this tourney, I have only ran one other before this (last feb)and so I think you have me confused with the other player that ran tourneys last year. In fact you were actually very helpfull fielding my questions about running RTTs, so I am a bit confused where the bad vibes come from. In fact I had personally invited you to the last one not-withstanding any previous tourney drama that had happened.
Anywhoo, those that did play in the last tourney overall had a fun experience, the only snag I came across was that I had to be my own pinch-hitter when we had an odd number of players after round 1. This made it hard to keep a running point total leading to some players being confused as to actuall standings prior to last round (not a big deal really). We had two prizes, one for best painted army (players and staff voted), and the other based purely on scenario scores. This time around the entry fee is 5$more, and that will go towards additional awards.
Stellak, if you are going to be at mind games tonight I'd be happy to address any issues you have...

I don't know what your name is silly.
Your real name. lol
I will see if I can get the people who played in your tournament to explain the problems they had.
I find my best criticism comes not from the locals I play with, but from the out-of-towners and their like--I've taken alot of what they have to say to heart.
I got invited down for a drubbing from a buddy of mine, who's all excited to run some jump pack BA right up my snout. lol So I will see about coming down tonight.

Ahhh, I think I know who you spoke to that had issue with the tournies that Mr.A/Y. had ran. Indeed, he actually beat me in a round (back in '07) quite soundly, but I ended up with best overall. I had a good-to-fair record of victory points, but had the majority of the votes for "best painted army", when compiled together I had indeed won best overall. This happened in a couple of RTTs so when I ran my first earlier this year I had separated the scores into distinct categories. I had taken the concerns/griefs and ran a different game. Ironically, I ran an RTT that specifically discriminated against me! hehe, talk about self loathing. :S

40k Rogue Trader Tournament
*Saturday Oct.11th *
Hosted by Adam Blakeslee and Brian Condie
Entrance fee: $15.00
Set up/Check in time: 10:15
Tournament start time: 11:00 and is comprised of 3 rounds (each 2hours long ). A 20min break for lunch and a 15 min break between 2nd and 3rd rounds.
Point value: 1750 points, participants must bring at least two copies of their list. Armies must be selected from any current 40k army codex and follow the standard force organization chart. Space Marine players may use either the current codex or the soon-to-be-released edition (but not both).
Missions: Scenarios will be based on the three main mission types found in the 5th ed rule book. A modified version of victory points will used in some missions.
Awards to be given for “Best Overall”, “Best Painted Army”,
“Bloodletter” and “Fuzzy Tau”.
“Best Overall” award is based on battle points. To be eligible for top honors, your army must be based and have at least 3 colors but skill doesn’t factor in.
“Best Painted Army” award is a composite score based on a popular vote from participating players and a panel of judges from the staff of Hastur. Quality of painting, color composition and overall theme will be considered.
“Bloodletter” is for all you Khornate ‘zerkers out there that could care less about fielding a well painted, well balanced force (no paint required!). “More blood for the blood god”, that’s your motto and you will get your rewards. This title ignores battle points/objectives and is based on how much of your opponents army you can reap!
“Fuzzy Tau” is for all you that really believe in the “greater good”... good sports, good fun and most of all good for the hobby. Soooooo you didn’t win, but you had a good time!

Hey Khlaukolash, love the award names.
To keep in theme, "Best Painted" should be something like "Slaanesh Appeal".
Keep up the good work!
