never tried my hand at elves before but want to start a HE army so here's my list. obviously gimme as much advice as you can, especially from those of you who are veteran HE players
the list is only 2115-2135pts right now as i can't figure what to add to make it 2250. my original intention was to have two regular chariots but now looking at them they look a little less appealing than before. any thoughts there?

oh right what should my wizards be equipped with? because i can't decide between magic defense or offense.

I'd try to squeeze in couple of eagles, which are fast & cheap divertes/harassers/marchblockers and can also hunt some enemy warmachines. You can trim down some magic gear and spearelves & white lions for the points.

eagles would be nice but i see no where in the book that says the bolt throwers are 2 for 1 rare slot, and likewise for the eagles. meaning i'd need to drop a bolt thrower for one eagle and the other if i wanted two eagles. to me that's just not an even trade. i'd much rather have the shooting. also i still have around 115pts left so there is plenty of space for two 50pt models.

wow i completely forgot that HE can have 4 rare choices. that definitely changes things a bunch. thanks for the suggestion

ok so im just gonna make some comments

first are your mages level two..because even high elf level one mages arnt too effective

i like th elook of your first noble but im wondering where you want to put your second noble. in one of the white lion units i presume

i would drop one of the units of spearmen and get swordmasters, two units of 7

i find the war banner kinda useless, unless you figured out that the +1 will give you the nessecary CR to win a usefull number of combats

also the lion standard is pretty good, but seeing as white lions are already stubborn they dont run away too much. i would say that if you are going to use them as an unbreakable anvil unit then its decent. still i would trade it for arcane protection

i also would like to know why you chose to take two huge units of white lions, i can see your untis are very good at moving through terrain but why nto swormasters or cavalry (dragon Princes)

the rest is pretty good and id use the extra points to upgrade a mage to archmage

Some sugestions
Give the BSB a great weapon. +2 str > +1 str and it doesnt affect him in any other way.

The spearmen units are oversized. They really dont need to be that big.

Same for white lions. If you want big elite units use phenix guard, they are really good at it (chars can make up for lack of damage)

Eagles are a necessity, get points from spearmen units.

When i played HE i always had a unit of 20 White Lions w. Command, the next best unit i ever fielded (only second to Chosen Knights of Khorne)

My opinion on Swordmasters on the other hand is that they are too fragile for their points.

Squeeze in as many RBT's as you can, they are simply too good to pass up.

And as bleedge said upgrade a Mage to an Archmage.

revised list. both spear blocks are there to hold characters (the nobles) and the mages go into the archer units in the back which will hopefully be on a hill or some sort.
the white lion units have the banners for two reasons, they need the extra CR against big things like skellies who could win combat and outnumber making me need to roll snake eyes to stay, and the lion banner also prevents things like that from happening. plus it's only 25pts so that isn't too shabby

White Lions are stubborn, they rarely break. Had my unit of 20 White Lions pitched against the biggest block of Ogres ive seen including the "Too rich to walk guy", they never broke holding up the unit for the rest of the game. (Fair trade 330pts holding up 6-700+pts)

however if you come up against that one fear causing enemy that outnumbers you and they win combat by 1 the stubborn isn't going to help much at all having to pass the ld test on snake eyes

ok came up with a different list. gimme some crits on this because i think this one is much more solid IMO
