To be honest the blood and the scrolls amaze me most.

Though it's technically impressive, ehhhh, I'm not a fan. It's too much in my opinion.

I like the scroll, but the main figure is too much an exercise in technique. Great to show off raw painting ability, but it just looks overblown.

That's funny. The same model was stated as too busy here a short time ago.

Thanks Dalyth, I was thinking the same thing.

Perhaps it was a paint job a month before its time?

This model is super sweet though. Held it in my hands and see it everytime I go to Tower games.

Tower Games is kinda nice for letting people keep their wicked pissuh models in the case to show how kick ass Minneapolis painters are.

I <3 Johhny Tower.

So Dalyth, when are you coming down to game?

That's crazy. A bit too much detail in my opinion, but impressive none-the-less. The blood splatter is particularly nice.

Also, do my eyes deceive me, or is that jamsessionein's stompa on the Honorable Mentions 2 page?

Yeah, I agree with others.

Technically, superb. But maybe overkill on the sheer complexity and application of the otherwise outstanding pattern.

Oh, Death was never enemy of ours!
We laughed at him, we leagued with him, old chum.
No soldier's paid to kick against His powers.
We laughed - knowing that better men would come,
And greater wars: when each proud fighter brags
He wars on Death, for lives; not men, for flags.

Still say it's too busy, but this picture makes it look FAR better than the first picture. Probably because the light is alot less harsh.

Darkness makes everything look better!

no such thing as overkill
then again i charge 8 skaven assassins into a black ork warboss XD
but looks wicked, just not too keen on the pattern he has going.

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.

I agree it is quite busy, but there's something about it that I think just works in this case. I don't know. I just think it's a "good" busy.

It most certainly is. Go ein!

I agree. It's usually the case of an artist, and not a gamer. Techniques, color palette, and playing tricks on the eye above realism. Nonetheless, it looks great.

heh - that mini is sitting in the display shelf at the store I play it. It's even crazier in person - sometimes with the photos blown up like that, it's easy to forget all that detail is crammed onto a 30ish MM figure. It's just insane.

Amazing paint job! Anyone else notice that the wrtiting on the scroll actually changes sides as it goes through...? Picky I know but I am seriously jealous of that guys talent...

The technical skill is very, very impressive, but the miniature itself leaves much to be desired. Poor composition and little to no apparent rhyme or reason to the use of freehand. It looks like an attempt to demonstrate his freehand ability (which is very much impressive) more than it looks like an all powerful inquisitor.

I love the servo skull, though. :p
