2x 5man Squads of scout snipers with one ML

10 man grey knight squad (teleport attack FA slot)
justicar with psycannon bolts and targeter

3X vindicators with POTMS

48 models 2502 pts.

I need to find something to drop for those two points. I am keeping the targeter on the PAGK squad as it is just too damned handy to not have.
Any ideas of what I can ditch? Perhaps one of the libby powers? Perhaps fear of the closet might not be so useful in that format?

Fairly straight forward and typical Lysanderwing list for the most part.

The PAGK squad goes with Lysanderwing so well it would be criminal to not take them. The teleport attack of lysander also allows this squad to piss down on the enemy just like termies do. I love this squad with my pee-pee.



Any comments on the list?

I'm guessing that the 'Ard Boy missions will not be 5e style with the "only troops can control objectives" bit?

While I love the list (and the three LRs!), I'm not sure what any of those scouts will accomplish, especially 5 man CC squad with nothing added.

They announced they would be that way, actually.

The scouts sit inside the LRC and score objectives unless you knock out the LRC.

Not easy to do by any means.

Why not use LR's instead of LRC's for the extra lascannons?

cool idea with the scouts. Why not loose the drop pod scouts and put a five man squad in each of the LR's?

I do like the idea of more lascannons, as even with the TH on the termie squads, you will still have to roll a 6 to "auto glance" with the autocannon and then roll a 3+ on the D6 in order to penetrate.

if you went to 3 LR, that would save you 15pts each, use 15pts to make the drop pod scouts into two five man bare squads, and then get three chain fists with the other 15 points (one for each elite squad).

Nope, no need to explain your list.

Sadly, I am not going to do any major reworking of my list though. A couple minor tweaks maybe but not anything on the scale you are suggesting.

That said, would anyone like to comment on my list, or is this a stelek thread now?

I think you have a nice list for 4ed ard boys, but for 5ed I'd wager you'll have major issues winning big with the list. I can't give any real advice without knowing what models you have available.

Also, I'd drop the power weapon on the librarian to get the points you need. I used the same config in 4ed for the extra attack but in 5ed you cannot combo a force weapon and a power weapon for an extra attack. The rules for two different special weapons means you cannot claim the extra attack. No, this is not the same issue as the powerfist, there's a seperate rule that invalidates the extra attack:

"Two different special weapons
When it is their turn to attack, these models must choose which weapon to use that turn, but they never get the bonus attack for using two weapons (such is the penalty for wielding too many complex weapons!)."
Force weapon and Power weapon are listed seperately as different special weapons and the rule for Force Weapon state they have the same effect as a power weapon, not that they are power weapons with additional rules.

There's no way around it, which is sad since I have a nicely converted dual wielding Lib and a t-hammer and crozius weilding chaplain.

Actually its the finals that will be using the new 5th ed dex. Qualifiers and semis will use 4th ed codex.

Not that I really expect to get that far anyways. I certainly am not the sort of person to jet set around the country paying inordinate amounts of money for transportation and lodging and miss out on several days of pay just to play a game.

I just want to use them in one final hurrah before lysanderwing dies a quiet non descript death at the hands of not being able to teleport assault or have termie command squads anymore.

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

Are you paying 30 pts for 2x LC? Take one and keep the Storm Bolter save 5 pts.

Actually I'd be surprised if the store hosting the semi-finals doesn't allow the 5th edition book.

Working with what you have, I'd drop the LC's on the libby's sergeant. They don't need'em. The scout squads need teleport homers to call down lysander and his bro's. I'm not really sure the vindicators are all that safe. They will be the only thing on the board to shoot at until Lysander comes down. Also, might as well split the Grey Knight squad into 2 of 5, for added flexibility, or drop a few GK's for another scout squad with teleport homer.
