1850 point Ultra list

The IC’s lend their weight to Close Combat, the Librarian down range with the Rhino Squads and the Master with the 2 running Squads
1x Master, PW, BP, combat shield, jump pack, terminator honors, Frag grenades
1x Epistolary, Veil of Time, Force weapon, BP, Melta bombs, frag grenades, jump pack, Iron Halo

These 2 Squads bee-line to the OBJ’s most closly tied into the OBJ’s Im claiming in or near my DZ OR they take the most covered and concealed route. The rhino needs to survive one turn of movement.
10x Tactical Squad in RHINO with smoke, HB, Flamer, Vet with PF and Combi-melta
10x Tactical Squad in RHINO with smoke, HB, Meltagun, Vet with PF and Combi-flamer

These two squads run trail behind the rhinos – they go for intermittent OBJ’s. Running really makes them fast enough to not require Rhinos them selves. Ill be sure to position the rhinos to block LOS from enemy firepower units.
10x Tactical Squad HB, plasmagun, Vet with PF and Combi-melta
10x Tactical Squad HB, plasmagun, Vet with PW, Combi-plasma and Melta bombs

These two Squads take my DZ OBJ’s
10x Tactical Squad Missile launcher and plasmagun
10x Tactical Squad Missile launcher and plasmagun

This Squad draws fire away from my Tactical Squads
10x Devastator Squad 2x plasma Cannon, 2x Missile Launcher

I'm missing an Assault squad accompanying the ICs. The rest looks pretty good.

I agree - I dont want to remove any Tactical Squads so it leaves me to either:

Drop an IC (Master) for a small Assault Squad
Drop the Devastators for a big Assault Squad
Drop both for 2 decent sized Assault Squads.

I like the lethality of the IC's so they kind of comensate for not having a dedicated Assault Squad.

The Devastator Squad is there literally to draw fire away frm the Tactical Squads. If I drop these for an Assault Squad - the only viable targets to shoot at will be the Tactical - as Ill be shielding the Assault Squad.

Its a dilemna - will have to see how this pans out. Ill probably drop the devastators for a unit of attack bikes.

The Dev squad will unlikely draw fire. The enemy will shoot at your mobile elements, these are the closest threats for her.
If you drop the Dev squad you have only 2 tactical units able to give fire support. Not much if you ask me.

Thats why Im thinking Attack Bikes are a strong move - theyre mobile and provide fire support.

As it is though, Ill be keeping the Devastators, even if they dont draw fire (they have so far), they can put a hurting on the opponents units.

I could drop the Master for 3 HB Attack bikes

Attack Bikes? Well, either turbo boost or shoot. They are one-hit wonders. If the enemy shoots back, they'll get down.

Alternatively, you could give the ICs terminator armour and let them lead a large Terminator squad. They could form the spearhead of your advance. In the backfield you only need one tactical squad.

What do people think of replacing the Devastators with either a Multi-Melta Attack Bike Squadron or a Heavy Bolter Attack Bike Squadron - both with 3 bikes?

Attack Bike squadrons are not durable enough; they have no ablative wounds as Dev squads have.

So if i understand you correctly....

Drop a Tactical Squad for either an Assault Squad or a Terminator Retinue for one of the IC's

Well, the new missions suggest to take a maximum number of troops. After about 10 test games, I see hardly a situation that this is really necessary.
I found that a spearhead unit that can clean an objective is mandatory in each Marine army.

I agree - that why I have the 2 IC's kitted out for CC. Winning CC's and then winning the initiative roll decisively beats your opponent. I just need to keep them supported - hence the 2 rhino squads. I prefer rhinos over jumppack troops beacuae I can use the rhino as mobile cover.

Rhinos provide kill points, too.
