Just out of curiosity because there's an ard boyz type of thing going on sometime soon and i am wondering what we daemons can make with 2250 points? I am thinking in line of Kairos + 2 tzeentch heralds, 1 nurgle, Horrors w/bolt etc... any suggestions?

Cheesiest Daemon army is all Nurgle.

I am encountering guys not using the army be cause it requires you to move and win. So not as enjoyable to play or play agaisnt.

GUO (lvl 3-4)
Epidemius
Herlad Palanquin (lvl 2)
Herald BSB Planaquin (lvl 1-2)
Nurgle Beasts (3-4)
Nurgle Beasts (3-4)
Plague Bearers (as required)
Nurglings (as filler)

Enjoy (or not?!?)

Either army (tzeentch or nurgle) is sick and really not fun to play against, tzeentch blows you away before you get across the table and nurgle just doesn't go away ever and eventually wins through CR, fear and the talleyman. Boring boring boring and really frustrating

Bloodthirster and dogs can blitz most anything off the field. For the true fury of cheese though, try playing vs. Kairos & the flying circus when you aren't to psych.

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

what is the flying circus? Is it the flying heralds or the screamers? I tried the screamers.. they are pretty big and sometimes hard to maneuver around to get some hits and then into cover. Also opponents i play usually start putting out difficult terrain around to prevent any cover for screamers. Any good way to use them more effectively?

would it be better if I field a bloodthirster and then go all magic with 3 heralds tzeentch and some horrors/bloodletters? This way i can do some decent blasting (not purely dependent on it) and can go head to head with things magic have hard time killing (dragons, opposing GDs etc.)?

Oh do you have a problem with Dragons and Lord mounted on them. Just send Skull taker after them.

He has Killing Blow on any size creature at 5+. With 4 attacks and Hatred he can kill Rider and mount in one round. Provided you roll the appropriate dice and get a 5+ on each of the targets to wound.

Uhhh.. I had a dragon a second ago.

The flying circus is a local euphemism for Kairos and his Heralds in a list where the only points that aren't flying are the 360 you spend on Pink Horrors. Everything else flies, and hence is difficult to charge. Thus, anything that can't chase down/shoot a flyer is wasted points in the enemy army.

In particular, the banner of -2 leadership, Kairos' spell casting and his terror causing can almost auto-break any non-ITP unit, which is why I mentioned it under cheesy.

Is that army viable though? I mean usually opponents have magic/shooting to take it down a notch...

Here are couple of variants I made.... any suggestion on which one will be best for the upcoming tourny? Its no holds barred so popes, teclis, slann all in...:

Yeh Skulltaker can't do anything to a High Elf on a Dragon if he is wearing Dragon Armor.

He can still ace the dragon.

No he can't, Skulltaker has flaming attacks, Star Dargons and high elves w/dragon armor are immune to flaming attacks. Taker's only chance in such a duel is that his Juggernaught killing blow's the elf on the back, and the dragon fluffs its attacks and routes.

Skulltakers attacks are great against woodelves, against dragons, about as much use as a chocolate teapot.
if your playing against a 2k HE army and they take a dragon, then chances are they will only have 2 mages, best of blasting them with magic from nurgle since tzeench is once again useless, or, failing that send in a KOS to kill him.
