Human Auxiliary to the Empire

Hi, I'm new to 40K but familiar with Necromunda. I bought the rules and the Codex: Tau and was wondering if anyone has any advice for a new player. I'm hoping to start with a 1500PT army.

I suggest a mech Tau army. Mount the Fire Warriors into Devilfishs and play fish of fury. Add three heavy support tanks (personal preference here) and three Crisis teams (plasmas and autocannons).
