I must say, different than I expected.

Seeing a lot of the lists you put together in the past I'm suprised to see you using dreadnoughts. Do you not have a concern about them being pretty much the sole target for your enemies shooting?

Additionally, I'm unclear on your choice of the librarians, what is the purpose of the second one in what seems like a very static army with only a few tactical squads moving forward?

Maybe I just don't get it.

Im imagining that this lists purpose is to hide, and really hide, until the enemy gets close enough to melta/AC/assault with dreads. There is no other way I can see this working - you are sending 30 marines to die otherwise if they footslog onwards.

Actually the whole point of the army is to move forward.

The Dreads don't die (usually) and you use them and some careful 'me, you, me, you' interspersing to give the marines cover saves.

Get to midfield, and dominate it. That's the point of 40k, ya know.

Since your whole army is fearless, let them shoot you. You have enough marines to make a dent.

The dreads (and the marines) should move forward on turn 1, and probably run forward. The whirlwinds sit in the back, nd will probably die early but before they do they'll hurt alot of armies with their ignore cover save templates.

Any mech armies won't like having you sitting there with meltaweapons in their face, and you may not realize it but most people won't move tanks within 24" of a multimelta. It's foolish to do so. You lose tanks that way.

This isn't a normal army build, by any means. The strength of it is you can deal with mech armies (meltaweapons, ven dreads), psychic armies (you actually have a hood), fear armies (you are now fearless), MC armies (MC don't like meltaweapons, force weapons, and ven dreads), and torrent of fire armies (because you don't have 20 terminators or 20 bikes, you have 40 marines).

All of which are Dark Angels weaknesses when you run a normal army of them which is usually a DW/RW combo.
