Hi all

Not sure this best place for it, but here goes...
I've recently been looking into infinity and fancy creating a small city based gaming board (i have abit of MDF board lying around which should do to start with) that i could also use on my main table as a large terrain piece.

I was wondering wot sort of material should i use for the actual buildings (i want the roofs to come off and some to be more than 1 level high), i'm hoping to make it modular so i can move buildings round to create different set ups etc.

Also anyone got any good tutorials etc. for creating good bulidings and floorplan layouts.

Basically any help would be lovely

Cheers

The first and most important question is: what's your budget?

If you're playing Infinity, I assume you want a modern look instead of the burned out Stalingrad look of most 40K terrain. Have you seen this board from the infinity forum?

I think the owner used a laser cut MDF, but you can see that a lot of the detail pieces come from the Hirst Arts sci-fi molds. You might be able to duplicate the effort with foam core or even thin sheets of MDF. Once the basic structure is done - pile on the greebles!

Or you can look for commercial products that will give a good base for your buildings. Amera makes vacu-formed buildings & CNC, Litko (and maybe GF9) make laser cut MDR buildings. All of these might give you a good place to start.
