Are there any good sources for Imperial Navy fluff? Appearances in Black Library novels?

Thanks,

some of the horus heresy books, and a few of the other black lib novels such as exterminatus. although hardly any in set in space the eisenhorn asnd ravenor give a good atmosphere to 40k which i imagine may be similar in some cases to being aboard ship. hope that helps.

Maybe "star of damocles" or "relentless" from BL could fill your imperial navy fluff.

Relentless is pretty good, long out of print but if you can track down Execution Hour or Shadowpoint they're both ace.

There's also an article called the Conquest of Obizdion that you can download from here that has some more info. Arts a bit dodgy in my opinion but hey.. it's free !

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all

Even though the focus of Double Eagle is an IG aviation unit, there is quite a bit about the Imperial Navy in there (as well as their relations with PDF aviation resources). I can't remember where it is, but in one of the books of 40k short stories there was a story about an Imperial Navy Marauder crew. In some of the Gaunt's Ghosts novels, there's discussion about the Navy as the Ghosts get shuttled around from planet to planet. Additionally, Dark Imperium has a short story about being press-ganged into the Imperial Navy.

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

No, if you read the rest of the sentence it's Execution hour and Shadowpoint that are long out of print.

Should have phrased it better I guess. Apologies.

I think you can download 'living rulebooks' for Battlefleet Gothic from the Specialist Game site. Theres a lot of background books further down the page...
