so rather than take big nids or ork tide i am going to give marines a shot. my least played army. here we go. I dont play traits, i play ultrasmurfs so dont bother suggesting traits ok.
Master w/ powerfist and BP
6 Marine command squad, tankhunters, 2 las cannon.
Tigurius, master librarian
5 Termis w/ 2 AC
5 CC Termis w/ lightning claws and thunderhammers
6 assault marines w/ vet sgt w/ pwr fist, 2 marines with plasma pistols
8 assault marines w/ vet sgt w/ pwr fist, 2 marines with flamers
6 dev. marines w/ 3 ML
6 dev. marines w/ 3 ML
6 Dev marnies w/ 3 HB
2x6 Marines w/ vet sgt w/ pwr fist, lascannon, plasma rifle
2x6 Marines w/ vet sgt w/ pwr fist, plasmacannon, plasma rifle
5 marines w/ hb and plasma rifle
6 scouts w/ 4 sniper rifles, 1 ML.
2500 pts even. 85 marines. i know i have no vehicles but i have tried the list with the few that i have and it didnt work out so well. i got poned by a really nasty ork list last time i played so i retooled and added the second assault marine squad and the cc termies. they should help keep orks out of my lines. i am considering dropping the scouts for a trio of bikers with two flamers just as a sacrafice unit that i can use to either roast hoards with or try to compromise objectives with. please rip and shred this list but if you do, at least suggest ways to improve it instead of just saying that it sucks.

I think the problem you have is this is a heavily themed shooty army, and you won't knock out tanks with this army.
Ultrasmurfs really are just terrible, they don't do well because they aren't easily buildable to do well.
It's hard to make recommendations other than I hope you go in knowing the reality of your army, and you go to have fun while you lose.

Thanks for looking at it.
So you really think that 4 las cannon and 7 missile launchers will have a problem with tanks? i looked at your 2500 and dont really see a problem tearing holes in it. devilfish are easy enough to down with ML and the 2 Str 10 las cannon will kill a hammerhead per turn. plus i out number you.
i realise that ultras are not the best pick for an army but i havent ever focused on buying broken troop options so i am not really set up for building for an ard boys. my orks lack unless i feilded 300 of them and the nids i have are also lacking so i make do with what i have.

Your troop choices are questionable.
An universally equipped squad (lascannon, plasma gun, pwr fist) should be larger, 8 to 10 men.
Drop the small Marine squad and add another Scout unit.

I chose smaller squads because i figured it would let me get lots more fire power. are you suggesting the scouts for the purpose of objective grabbing? My last list had 8-10 man squads and some vehicles as well as a large unit of CCW scouts. all they ever did was die, thats why i pulled them out.

No, you won't down a hammerhead a turn with his 4+ cover save. Even with the missile launchers, you'll be lucky to down 1 devilfish a turn once again due to the 4+ cover save.

would you add something else in those heavy slots?
i revised it some and got even more in the way of plasma, five more plasma weapon at the loss of only two men.
