Ok here's the deal, since the Sister Superior that come in the Sisters of Battle box looks the same and the only way for me to get another SS is to order from GW directly, and that is just not an option right now.
So i decided to convert a regular bolter swinging Sister to use as my Celestian Veteran. One of the things ive done is a halo in GS but for the first time in my career i have no idea how to paint it or what colors to use to get a glowing effect.

So im reaching out my hand to all of you experienced painters, please help me.

Tipically Halos are Gold I would highlight for it to shine down on the sister.and maybee give her a holy glow effect as well.

I think it can be done if you painted the lighting effect from the halo on the head and shoulders of the model.

Twister....

Glowing effects can be done in any color. I've done blue, green, pink yellow and orange, and they've all worked just fine.

If you want a "Holy Glow" try mixing your paints to match some renaissance paintings' halos. These should be some golden yellows or lighter browns. Then go to your OSL as normal. The only colors you can't use are metallics. So, go with some NMM gold colors to start your glow.

I'd go into more detail about how to do the OSL, but there are lots of good tutorials on the web that can explain that.
