Relatively new to both Fantasy and Dwarves, and just bought the Dwarf Box.  Any old-timers willing to offer some sagely advice? How are great weapons on warriors/longbeards?  etc. etc.

Empire and Dogs of War player myself, but http://www.bugmansbrewery.com/ is a solid dwarf site, if no one here pipes up.

Now, if you want to talk artillery, then that's all me. Dwarves may have invented gunpowder, but it was Human genious that makes it so darn powerful.

Dwarves have issue in non pitched battle events. A squad of hammerers, a thane bsb, runelord with anvil, miners, toss in shooting to make yourself happy. Double gyrocopters are pretty good now they can move the turn they rally. It isn't a great army but it isn't bad either. You are slow, but rock solid leadership. Your guns are the hammer, your troops the anvil.
