I need to model something resembling strips of leather wrapped around a horn for one of my horn-blowers. In the past I've tried ribbon-style dental floss and strips of paper, but both of these end up being so thin that they don't really stand out under a coat of primer. I could use green stuff but I'd rather keep the strips fairly uniform in width and I can see GS mushing out on me if I'm not careful. Anyone got any suggestions?

well greenstuff has always worked for me, i just let it cure a bit to stop it mushing
