ello all- as we can see I'm a newb to dakka. Been in the game for a year though so I'm not TOO noob at the actual game (though I'll be first to admit there I things I can do better).

Anyway, I've got a couple of questions about building a dread bash list, specifically an ork one.

1. Does the Skorcha on a deff dread count as a CCW in assault, similar to how a burna works? I doubt it, as that would just be waaaaay too awesome for the cost, but hey can't hurt to ask

2. Is there any faster way to get the dreads to where they need to be? I know marines get pods, but can da boyz lug around their kans and dreads in battlewagons maybe?

3. What are good support units? I'm thinking of keeping my KoS elements (Bikes + trukk boyz) and my lootas as support while stompy death walks unto whatever has the misfortune of coming nearby... or would I be better suited losing the trukks and putting the boyz in the middle of the dread wall (With a KFF which I do know i direly need to get for this list; already have an SAG who does wonders.... when he wants to).

I know this isn't the place for lists, but I'm thinking

HQ SAG + KFF
Elite - 2 13-man squads of lootas, possibly a nob bike squad (thinking about converting the AoBR nobs into those, as I see no point for regular nobs)
Troops - 4 sets of your standard trukk boyz, the 2 troop dreads (load out depending on the answer to #1, likely 1 skorcha, 3x CCW)
fast attack- 1 Bike squad, 1 deffkopta squad
Heavy- 3x3 killa kans, 1 squad of grotzookas, the rest KMBs

1) No, sorry. That would be pretty rad though.

2) Run. That's it I'm afraid, no transports for dreads.

3) Big mobs of boyz are great with dreads, as are burna boyz led by meks that can repair broken dreads. If you keep the KFF mek handy he can fulfill this role though, but you damage the manouverability of the whole army if the KFF has to stay put. I'm really not sold on the idea of trukks +dreads, you never know, it might work, but you risk spillting your forces into easily manageable chunks for your opponent.

Opinions are like arseholes. Everyone's got one and they all stink.

Burnas... not useless? That one is kinda blowing my mind lol- I was thinking the KFF alone would do it, but I can see what your getting at. Oh well, I'm sure 2 boxes of lootas would be able to solve it (build 3 burnas and the two meks, build the rest as lootas). And I was kinda thinking the same with the trukks, maybe save one trukk and and the bikes as a mobile strike team to take out any High Strenght Low AP targets (like rail heads).

Also, as I haven't started yet, would marine dreds make a good base for an ork dred, or are they more of a kan size? Hoping the former, as I've got a great idea to make em looted..
