wait wait wait wait... huh..?

Ok, so, here's my concept for my space marine chapter.

1) They use lots of Devastators, and assault marines.

2) My devies, and tactical squads can infiltrate

This means that I have a solid short and long range punch, but my firepower kinda dies out in the middle. So, here's my questino, should I:

A) get the trust in your battle brothers ability to seal up the middle line of defense/offense?

B) get Take the Fight to Them and give all my infiltrating marines a fun time in close combat?

C) do something clever with scouts (I have no idea what this would entail)

D) I'm a dumbass and I have overlooked something obvious like... my army sucks

and another thing. I have no idea what the new rules are so maybe my army has become completely obsolete for 5th edition. If it has, please tell me so i can kill myself.

Well, don't kill yourself, but it's likely that a lot of your chosen traits will be gone - ie, no infiltrate for devs and tacs, probably no devs in the elites section.

Having said that, there's no reason your long-range firepower should be any less effective at mid-range. The tac-squads would add that mid-range firepower, and act as assault buffers for your dev squads. The assault squads would be there to counter-assault and mop up. However, that doesn't mesh well with the all-infiltrate method, which is primarily used (I imagine) to obtain clear lanes of fire after the opponent has set up.

well the whole point is that with infiltrate, deep strike, and fast moving units, I can keep my opponent confused, or stupified by my newbie moves. And as far as the whole mid range thing goes, its there that I can get easily locked into battles of attrition which i will lose very fast
