So sadly there are no pics to show you all what I want, but I am looking to making a new marine army for the release of the new dex. So the more I thought about it the more I realized I didn't want, black, white, red, or blue. That didn't leave me with allot. So at the moment im thinking of a few options. And any color suggestions would help me allot.

So the first one that I am leaning towards currently is a grey with red details. And im thinking straight grey not space wolves grey. To blue for me.

Second I was looking at the mantis warrior color scheme, which is basically emerald green armor with a red strip down the helm.

Also I was thinking maybe a yellow or purple army of some sort. Let me know what ya all think

My vote is for yellow with dark purple trims. It would look really nice.

Grey may be good. Its not a common used color but it fits with most other colors, like red/green/yellow/orange.
Yellow is a challenge to paint :S but it is a bright color that looks good with a second darker color, perhaps green.
Purple has to be mixed by yourself, but may look good if you use it only partially.

Forgot: is your plan a one-color or two-color scheme? Halved/quartered sheme or armorpieces like shoulderpads
done in different colors?

I suggest also : Insignium astartes (book), the SM-painter from B&C, "show you mine ,show me yours" thread at B&C.

if you choose codex grey, you can always claim your plastic models as painted, even when they're not

Maybe this article on the uk gw site could help a bit. Tons of color schemes all done up for you to check out and help figure out what you like on the models and what you don't. You might even lift one of the schemes wholesale ^_^.

may sound weird, but try painting them yellow and applying a thin wash of watered down fiery orange, looks great

or, on a random note, do what my GF done, love marines XD
random pink marines with red heart shoulder pads XD

For some reason I like Adeptus Battlegrey as a main color and either Tausept Ochre or Inyanden Darksun or the secondary. The Ochre looks a lot like gold dress military colors used on ropes and other such things. It at least looks good on IG.

could try gold?
nothing wrong with chav marines

but on a serious note, its best to get some old models that have a nice flat surface and some detail and try out as many colour schemes as you want, then compare them and pick the 1 you want.
i only chose iron hands due to the fluff and the look of loads of bionics.

naw the actual blue is closer to crimson fists. Navy blue is quite different from the Ultramarines baby blue.

wait wait wait wait... huh..?

Heres my idea for manowar2 make it quartered with a dark orange and black for the trim on the shoulder pad use a lighter orange and make the shoulder pad on the orange quarter black. make the knees and all the raised thingies black with light orange highlights

I'm painting gold Thousand Sons. I start by mixing in Shining Gold with Scorched Brown to give a nice deep base. I've never seen a marine all one metal colour, but I'm giving it a go. All gold, with blue robes.

I really should be spending my time more constructively.

Well right now I am thinking a light almost concrete colored grey, halved with scab red. Gunna try it out tomorrow and see how I like it

I think you'll get better results quartered. Or using the red for shoulderpads.

Ya think quartered will work better? Alright I will see what I can do

Yeah, quartered looks a little more "balanced".

The nice thing is, for your first batch, it really doesn't matter that much. Just paint a few test models and see what you like better. If I were you, I'd paint all 3 variants (grey with red pads, grey & red halved, and grey & red quartered). One of them will stick out as your "winner", the others wil be repainted. Repainting 2 out of 40-50 models is no biggie.
