So I'm starting collecting HE and was wondering about the fluff. Is there accepted pronunciations on this stuff, most of its obvious but a few could go a couple ways I think.
Asuryan...so is it like ace or more a zzz sound?
Hoeth...ho-eth like it looks or is there a silent vowel?
just dont wanna sound like a dwarf

I've always considered it pronounced Ho-eth.
As for asuryan, I've always thought it to be like:
Ah - sir - ian

thats cool HFJor, I think that sounds good too. I guess its all subjective really but I wonder sometimes if the original writer of the first elf books groans when he hears people say this stuff completely different than he intended.

Not to thread-jack, but I feel this question is kind of inline with this thread:
How the heck should Chrace be pronounced?
Soft "ch" so that it sounds like "trace"
Hard "ch" so that it sounds like Krace
Or a silent c like in Channukah? Hrace....

I like the hard "krace" sound. More in line with macho(maybe the wrong word to describe elves woodsmen from the wild frontier.

well, If you go with tolkin, the letter "c" at the beginning of a word makes a "k" sound. cirith ungol would be pronounces kirith ungol.
