For some reason a lot of sites I visit have started to just freeze during the search for server process. The progress icon just spins forever or I eventually get a "can't contact/no response from server message".

This has been happening intermittently on The Miniatures Page, to give an example a lot of Dakka readers may visit. It is also happening on a variety of sites in Japan, the USA and UK.

It's not my browser or my internet connection. I have tested both.

I wondered if any other Dakkites have been experiencing similar problems recently.

At work the intraweb grinds to a halt sometimes and I have to open a new IE window and the new one works fine.

At home however no problems...

There's more than that wrong with Warseer. However, what I've noticed is on Warseer is that I'll click on a link for a picture, it will take forever to load and then when I try to close the pop-up, IE will stop responding. (It's not even pRon!)

I had that problem with a few sites yesterday. One is in my favorites list, and I'd never seen that problem before.

it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

I've been having some substantial freezes, load up times since my Firefox updated itself to 3.0... I hate it...

Firefox 3.0 - the best upgrade since Vista! (sarcasm )

Hmmm.

It happens to me on Firefox v3.0.1, Safari and IE.

not enough... I have moved it to offtopic .

If you are ever wondering about the state of the global Internet, then do what us admins do... go to the Internet Storm Center to see the status of the net. It is a pretty cool site and updates very quickly.
