Don't know if I am gonna make it, Ard Boyz is right before my wedding. If I do go, I'm looking at taking the following force as a rough draft. I'd like to include some Land Raiders but, alas, I don't have any put together.

So, what do you think? Any changes/comments? I am thinking about dropping a termie squad for a Dread and maybe some razorbacks.

I like scoring ravenwing units, but why include Sammael instead of belial if you're running two Deathwing units and only one Ravenwing? Sure, sammy is the sexier character, but with only one other serious peice of armor He's going to get lit up for the entire game, and probably won't get to shoot much.

I've been pretty impressed with the durability of deathwing termies, particularly with an apothecary, and they are one of the best objective holders in the game.

Other than that, I'm still not sold on plasma cannons, although they are pretty potent. I'd seriously consider switching it to another lascannon.

The assault squad, even with chaplain, seems a little unnecessary. It's a pricy, but not overly punchy, countercharge unit that could probably be replicated with another death wing squad (w/ belial!), more ravenwing, or even another tactical squad.

All in all, the list is solid, although not IMHO maximized even to the extent that DA can. I'd propose over loading on the DA's strengths (termies, bikes or cheap Armor) rather than try to shore up combat weakness with assault squads.

I dont have the DA book but if you could, are you going to put 2x flamers in that unit. Flamers have paid off more times that I can count in my Assault squads.

Thats about all I have as the list looks solid.

Tarval, DA and BA get no flamers in their assault squads.

Were you talking about DW assault squads?

Guess that only make me happier that I stopped playing DA back in 3rd ed. First time I got a chance to see the new codex I new this army was no longer the army I wanted to play. Sorry to say but that sucks... oh well but over all the list does look solid.

The ability to break your tact squads really helps for taking objectives....

Thanks for the help. I chose Sammy as he is the best thing in the DA army bar none. He may take a lot of fire but he has won more games for me than anything else.

I think I may drop the Assault Squad as advised. With the points I can get another Deathwing Squad and I'll drop the Chappy for Belial so I can have both Ravenwing and Deathwing squads as troops. That'll put me over the limit of troops choices so maybe I'll drop the Plasma Cannon squad and take a Dreadnought and some Razorbacks.

Also, do you think I should drop the whirlwind for another Pred Destructor (10 points more)?
